I have always had a hard time with this one. I notice that when I am not anxious, I am easily in the precious moment. When I am anxious, I am either in the future or in the past and thus not in the present moment. To me that says to just use your calming skills to calm your body down and you will be in the precious moment. But it is not that simple, nor is it always that easy.

My main fear is that I will stay anxious at work all day long. Everyday. Irrational thought I agree, considering all I really have to do is calm myself down to stay in the precious present moment. Right? Still not that simple.
Is there a thought you can have to be or stay in the precious moment? Since this is all about Cognitive thought replacement, is their a thought that I can have that will help me be in the precious moment? I have had this problem at work for a while now and I want to overcome. I am weening off of xanax and am down to 1 pill a day, and I need help. Total Acceptance without skills does not work on it's own. I need help staying in the precious present moment. Please give me some idea of what works for you.

Thanks,

Tony

I think this is something that a LOT of us struggle with...I know I do for sure. I am ALWAYS fearing how I will feel in the future when I do this or go there, etc. I am in the same boat as you, Tony.

I would also like some advice on this subject if anyone has any.

How do you feel about the present moment? Most times, when I am anxious, it's because I hate the present moment, so I am distracting myself from it. Like whenever I try to do office work I get anxiety because I HATE it, and am so bored I can't stand it!
