The greatest source of my anxiety right now is my financial/debt situation...I'm trying to do the best I can with--I mean, I tried to make it better but everything I tried turned out to be a dead end & a waste of time. Now the credit card co. may garnish my wages. I'm going to see an attorney tomorrow and I'm pretty scared. I can't stop kicking myself for letting things get this way, either. It's negatively impacting my life and I'm feeling depressed, although I'm doing my best to see the positives in my situation. How do you cope when you have something really difficult going on in your life - not something that you know right away it's gonna turn out okay (you know, like is that cake I made gonna be good enough, and later in the day everybody liked it)?

Jude.....my husband and I are having some financial difficulties as well.....
I can totally understand your fear and your stress. Its just about all I can stand myself.

Alls I can say to you is to take a deep breath and if you have any belief in a higher power then believe that he will provide for you.

Sometimes we have to really strain to see that path but it will be there...I positively believe this and that is why I know that in the end we will make it through this as will you.

Do your program. Be kind to your mind and body through this trying time. Be gratefull for what you do have in life. Your health your family your freinds......you are very wealthy if you can appreciate your gifts.

Thanks...I didn't mention it but I have to give up the program due to this...but I've tried it and am keeping the lessons in mind. My dear friends keep telling me there will be a way, and I do believe in a higher power. The things that are most difficult for me is hardships I know I've caused mostly myself, because I hate making mistakes. I'm trying to remember to forgive myself and move on.

jude,
i think alot of us ave been in your shoes before..i have because my ex got credit cards in my name and maxed them all out. this year i will be clear on my credit..the attorney will tell you what to do and if you can pay a little at a time they will work with you..we will be praying for you that GOD will bring you through this and you come out on top. i know that it is easier said then done..do you remember that a lady had a little flour and not much else and the man told her to make him something to eat.i forgot what verse it is. anyway she did as she was told and she never went hungry again..what i do and its not saying you do it. i planted a seed several times and GOD provided for us...i finished the program in 2004 and just in 2006 the panic and anxiety and agrophobia went away..i hope that you can work on geting things straight..i moved from virginia to north carolina and am now married to the most wonderful lady on the earth..GOD is good and you keep that in my. know that you are in our thoughts and prayers and read my profile and see where i came from.if you ever need to talk please feel free to message me..GOD BLESS..

Hi. I too have credit cards bills that I'm having a hard time paying. My medical bills were $17,000 last year alone, and I've been dealing with this disorder for 8 years. Do what you can. Try to worry about one month at a time and not look at the whole amount. I pray the lawyer will lead you in the right direction and that God will bestow a financial blessing upon you. Take care, Bev

REMEMBER THE SONG HEY JUDE? YOUR NAME MADE ME THINK ABOUT IT. ANYWAY,YOU DON'T NEED A LAWYER IF YOU DEBTS ARE ALL UNSECURED CREDIT CARDS. ALL YOU GOTTA DO IS TELL THEM YOU CAN'T PAY. THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. WELL THEY WILL GIVE YOU BAD CREDIT,BUT THAT'S ALL THEY CAN DO. AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY A LAWYER.....MALIKYE

Quick comment:

I have the worst financial ocd and to be completely honest now recovering all around I feel as though I enjoy my money now, I dont worry about money- this goes with this disorder, by worrying about money which is easy to do you are distracting yourself from whats really bothering you- enjoy this momment, I have learned by worrying about NOTHING and really it is NOTHING money comes and goes you are missing the present momment.. wow! makes sense..

good luck and keep recovering I promise this will be a distant memory soon!

Have you heard of Dave Ramsey? Highly recommend listening to his radio show or podcast, getting one of his books (the total money makeover, financial peace), or attending a Financial Peace University class. I don't think anyone's debe is as bad as mine! I owe $260K unsecured, student, and mortgage. With Dave's common sense guidance, I feel more empowered but still obviously deeply in debt. you have the power to get out of this hole. Do NOT listen to the poster who said to ignore it. They will garnishee your wages and harass you nonstep but bad credit is not the end of the world. go to www.daveramsey.com

Right on Dodger! LA Fan? Anyhoo, I can totally empathize with all of you. Money is very stressful and can put untold external and added internal pressures. My wife and I are struggling with debt. I am a small business owner and she is studying to become licensed as a brokers assistant. We live in a small starter home in a rural suburb of our sister city.We want to start a family but debt and uncertainty surround us. Dodger is right though. No matter how bad things may seem there are always blessings! Dealing with chronic anxiety and trying to keep it together is hard. But love, hope, family or friends- whatever you're blessings, count them and see just how fortunate you really are! Thank God for this program! Talking to others just like me gives me strength. Bring on week 3!

Wow you said it so nicely...I have learned that life is about ups and downs. when you are up you have to come down thats when the car breakes or the water heater goes out or something. When you are down and feeling like you at the bottom you are and with preservation the only way is to come up but know that you probably will get hit with something. God is testing us to make us stronger people. Sometimes I wonder what the test is but I do work through it all and sometimes I get sick over it and other times I can laugh. Do count your blessings life could be more ups and downs. Its what makes the world go round.
