It has a name and thought you might want to know, it's harmelss:

Globus Hystericus

It's a symptom and will go away if you give it no credibility
I Am Worth It!

Hi Theresa,

I read that in the Linden program, he went into such detail about the symptoms and gave a name to them, I really found that so helpful.

Thank you everyone for sharing this info. I searched webmd.com for both names, "dysphagia" and "globus Hystericus" and found some interesting info and sites worth checking out.

Happy 4th of July! :)

Put it out of your mind! Stop looking things up and filling your head with all sorts of new ideas to scare yourself with! Look, I'm guessing if you had the bad and scary one that it would be with you more and more but I'm also guessing that there is a lot of time where you can swallow normal and even sometimes when you don't even think about it? You amygdala is playing tricks on you because you have a lot of emotion when thinking about the swallowing thing, and it remembers it and keeps bringing it up to you. You're fine, but go to the Dr. only once more just to be sure and get a full physical and then stop going. Don't re-inforce the ideas that are making you run scared. Even Lucinda says you have to stop giving them the power and then they will go away! And they do! It takes practice- Good Luck!
