Does anyone hear things that are not there? This doesn't happen to me always but sometimes I'll hear things like a door slamming or someone coming in and I have heard a train before too. This is when I am falling asleep but not asleep yet. Ill hear it and It'll wake me up and than i realize its not real and that scares m so bad. Or sometimes I'll kinda just hear a loud sound in my ears. its weird. Im thinking I may have some kinda form of this thing called exploding head syndrome. Here is a link for anyone to check out who may also suffer with this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exploding_head_syndrome

Does anyone else hear things like this? This def makes causes me distress and now im afraid to go to bed. Im afraid I'll keep hearing things )-:
Can anyone relate? Why does this happen? Is it stress and being very very tired?

Hey girlie. I swear every time I see you post I smile...not that I am happy you are going through this...but you sound so much like me. ;)

All these things are just your anxiety expressing itself in different ways. I went through a short period of time where this would happen. Mostly when I was trying to go to sleep or was taking a shower and no one else was home. IT FREAKED ME OUT. I would carry my 9mm into the shower WITH me. I would set it on the ledge of the tub on the inside of the shower curtain. (Away from the water of course ;) ) Taking it into the bathroom wasn't good enough, because I mean, what if they barged in there and grabbed it before I could and used it on me? I would swear I heard someone come in the front door and would stand in the shower for several minutes, gun aimed waiting like I was one of the Charlie's Angels!
Now no one would be expecting me to be standing there pointing a 9 at them when they ripped back the shower curtain, so I really had them fooled if they tried it. I would keep it under my pillow at night and actually try to fall asleep in a position to where I could grab it without moving much so if someone came in they would think I was still asleep!
I would hear all kinds of things...the ones where I thought someone was coming in..that is how I responded...sometimes I would walk around with it...even to get a drink of water.
The other noises I heard that didn't make me think someone was coming in...maybe a loud whistling or something...would scare me. Obviously I didn't need a gun for this, but I would then start freaking out about the whole mental illness thing and think...
Oh no, I'm one step away from hearing voices and then having conversations with them!
You have just been consumed with anxiety, it's totally normal...and the better you get, these particular symptoms will subside...just like all the others. I don't have these anymore.

Holly, SMILE :)
My cell phone vibrates on my hip at times but doesn't ring? After a lengthy investigation I struck luck and just figured it out hehehe! When the phones battery loses a bar (of charge) it let's you know with a "buz" hahahahaha. So I wasn't really feeling a ring (for a phone call) but I was feeling a buz for a reason. lol :)
