Hey all- Im 26 yrs old and have only been in 1 other intimate relationship before this one. I have dated many guys but always push them away so I wont get hurt. I have this problem where I cant be intimate without being sexual. This guy is different and things are still going good after 3 months but Im worried im going to mess it up because I am CONSTANTLY analyzing and having negative thoughts. When Im with my boyfriend, Im totally fine but then when Im not woth him, I start anazlyzing and thinking he totally doesnt like me and its not going to work out....and what will I do if it doesn.t. My best friend keeps saying that if it doesnt work out, I will be fine in the end. I know shes right, but its just not that easy. I'm guessing the best solution to this problem is to reverse my negative thinking..? I really need to tackle this. Can anyone relate?? Need advice! Thanks

Hi Jules - first of all if you believe you are going to mess things up you will. You are telling yourself the answer you dont want to hear and slowly manifesting it. Its funny how as humans many of us look to the ending rather the begining. Read your own post..."things are going good after 3 months"...keep it going you have the power, just as you analyze all the possible bad outcomes, visualize all the positive aspects. I know its hard if you always view the negative but stop and think about it. Positive is just as easy. I had been in your shoes when I was younger. I understand where you are coming from. Relationships take work, sometimes OT. All you can do is work on yourself.
