Hello, I have been doing the program since October and have seen some areas of improvement. I was having a lot of heart palpitations and heart concerns but that has gotten better too - until this past week. I few days out from starting my period, I started feeling increased anxiety and heart palpitations. I tried to dismiss it as PMS but then when my period started, they continued and also shortness of breath. In the midst of this, I also found out that my good friend in Florida, the one I can call at anytime day or night, is losing her phone and internet so now I can't call her and I think that is causing anxiousness too. I guess my question is, do any of you other ladies ever experience increase in anxiety, palpitations, dizziness or shortness of breath around the time of your period? Any advice of what I can do to help me not freak out? Thanks.

Ms. Hopeful,
Hi I just wanted to let you know that I too experience the symtoms you have mentioned. I have been taking evening primrose 3 times a day as i was told it is helpful for pms. I also have heard that magnesium helps for the heart palpitations. I have been having alot of the heart palpitations and it has really scared me but I haven't seen the doctor yet. I pray that is nothing more then the anxiety, etc. Keep working the program and try to elimate caffeine or chocolate etc. Good Luck to you and I hope this helps.

Hi Ali04, thanks for responding. It helps to know I am not alone. I have been to the dr. about the heart palps and everything checked out ok. I don't drink caffeine and pretty good about not eating chocolate. I also take magnesium supplements but I probably need to up them a bit more. I do believe it is mostly anxiety and of course, some hormones thrown in there. I take Fish Oil too but will look into the evening primrose oil. Maybe that would be a better choice for me. Thanks again, Tammy

I don't have periods anymore, but I have stop eating or drinking anything with caffeine. I have actually have lost about 12 pounds since last months because a heavy caffeine addict. I was going to McDonalds twice a day to get the hot chocolate and then I was drinking my fav drink, Dr. Pepper, a couple of cans a day. I did go to a health food store and they recommended a good multi-vitamin and some other items. I haven't tried the primrose. M

My doctor put me a beta blocker for about a month. (The beta block does have some side effects and I am actully trying get off of them) for the heart paps and I don't have those anymore, unless I am exercising!!!

Hi Madimac and Shifrah, thanks for your input. I am much better now, of course, because I'm almost done with my period. Madimac - I look forward to not having them anymore too!! Maybe a few more years....

Shifrah, I always appreciate your advice as I have seen on other postings. I, too, have made various changes in my life relating to healthy choices from foods to switching to an alternative medicine dr. She actually specializes in natural hormone replacement therapy and that is why I first went to her. I have learned alot and still am... Take care ladies and thanks again...

Hey Ms. Hopeful

I experienced this last night again before falling asleep. Just wanted to follow up on you with that. It was a wallop of one and for a moment I had some concern, but then I fell asleep, LOL!

I agree diet change can make an amazing difference - have you ever read "The China Study?" excellent book about diet and a great deal of study that goes into it, and there is some focus on women's issues and hormones.

One fact that stands out in my mind, was that in the high plant eating communities, girls normally started menstruating at age 17, that was average...the lower ages were 14 and the higher were 19 from my recollection.

That is great about your alt doctor. I am working with a doctor also who is into complimentary medicine, it's refreshing not to get pharmaceuticals always pushed at me.

Hi Shif, just caught sight of this reply. Sorry to hear you were experiencing that. I'll check into the book as I enjoy reading. Good to know you go to a complimentary dr. If we end up moving to Colorado Springs, I may ask for who you see when I need to switch over from mine here. She has been great for me this last 6 years. We try to be careful about what we eat - especially foods that we know have hormones added or other stuff. My husband watched a documentary on Nexflix called "Food Inc" (I think) and told me to watch it. WOW! Makes you think twice about what we are picking up in the stores. Somethings we don't have much control over but what we do - we do something about!! Thanks for sharing. Tammy
