Hi everyone. Checking in today. Started week 3. Boy am I a negative thinker. I know I have been all of my life. Didn't really think about it before but I sure am now. I used to laugh and say I am a toxic worrier. It true and it is not funny now! How do you not worry? How do you become a positive thinker if you never have been? I know that absolutely nothing I have ever worried about has happened! I think I need to really stay on session 3 for maybe a little while. Thanks for listening. Prayers to all.

Seems to be taht worry is the hardest thing for us! I am a chronic health worrier and I also worry about nearly everything. It is very hard but it is the underlying key to recovery. Keep trying to correct your negative talk with positive talk. I learned a mantra from Ms. T Bones "You are safe, secure, healthy and very sane. These thoughts cannot hurt you and have no power." I must say it a milion times a day. Hopefully it will get easier!! good luck!!

Sounds like you have really been a conditioned worrier- one who catastrophizes and disasterizes the future and what you imagine might happen. You may feel insecure about your ability to handle things because you feel afraid of what might happen if...

Changing your thinking is what this whole anxiety business is all about. If you didn't care about the things that bother you today, then how could they bother you? They wouldn't you know. Changing the worry habit takes constant repetition. You have to catch yourself when you start to worry, say "STOP" and change the course of thought you were on. "My worrisome mind is telling me _____. But my rational mind is saying _____."
This takes time and is filled with frustrations- but in the long run it is so worth it to be free from fears & worries. Best of luck!

I am on session three I am learning so much about myself I never thought about. Thank God for this program I can not wait until next session.
I started to have a panic attack I talked my way out of it before it got to bad. I do so want to have a new life without panic and anxiety and depression. I am telling all my friends at church and other friends about this program it is really working God Bless you all. Linda

Thank you for the positive responses. I know it will take time to think differently. 49 years of negative talking is just about enough I thinkj. Time to change. I am a fast learner!! Thanks again.
