I just receivded the program for the 2nd time. I got the program 16 years ago when I was 26 years old and went through it probably 3 times. I thought I did well at the time but now that I lood back I did not master the positive thinking part of it.(session 3) That is the most important thing to study and practice.

Everything came back crashing down on me about a month ago going through some marital issues.
The panic attacks came back full force!
All the "what if" thinking came back and I was way worse than I was 16 years ago. Probably becasue back then I was single and now I am married with two young kids. I felt very upset and depressed that it came back and down on myself for not figuring this out the first time.

So I purchased the program again to get the CD's and DVD's since I had the cassettes the first time. I am studying very hard with trying to recognize my negative thoughts and replacing them with compassionate thoughts to feel better. Now I know that is the key to recovery!

It is nice to have this since the last time I went through this I did not have this support. I felt all alone since I am a male and did not tell many people about my condition.

Good luck everyone!

rumpoint,

You'll get plenty of support this time. There are a lot of great people on this site and some great guys who have been through the same thing you are experiencing.

I have just re-started myself at session 3--they call it a "hinge" session. I think this time you will get it licked, but even afterwards you have to keep up your skills.

Best of luck to you and welcome to the website!

Hello everyone! Im not really sure how to work this program yet I just started 1 day ago. I live in Atlanta, Ga and I am a student who's about to finish up in May. I first noticed that I had anxiety about 3 or 4 yrs ago while driving. I believe that i had a stressful job and probably dreaded to go. Ive noticed that i have had some depression as well a little bit later. I really want to get my life back, my realtionship and drive back and Im hoping that someone or something can keep me motivated and focused on what life has in store for me(greatness:-)
Thanks
Mo12

rumpoint and mo12-

welcome back and welcome initially!

this is a good thing for our lives. I'm glad you both are here.

As to how to work the program, I think you figure out how to do it as you go. Consistency on doing your lessons, and practicing putting yourself out there and using skills instead of just avoidance or steeling yourself to get thru something. I found daily exercise and clean eating have been super helpful too.

Hi there, rumpoint and mo12...

Start with Lesson One and make sure you don't rush through the program. Listen carefully once, twice, as many times as you need for it to sink in.

Each lesson build on the one(s) before it. You will find as you go along which lessons are more unique to you. Focus on those.

Listen to the relaxation cd each and every day, at least once. I like to listen to it twice. Make sure you have little or no distractions. Some people find it difficult at first. Don't dispair if you cannot complete it all the first time through, or even the second or third time. It is difficult to get relaxed at first for most people.

Finally, while doing the program, think about these things also: proper nutrition, proper exercise, thinking positive thoughts, and doing good in your life to yourself and to others.

Practice every day and you will be just fine. Let us all know how you are doing. These boards and the online chat are both wonderful helps.

Good luck!
