I get sinus pressure in my ears, eyes, and head. It gets so bad that I feel like I'm gonna pass out. I was given antibiotics.

I'm still not convinced that it's all sinus.

Please somebody. Tell me something to help me feel better.

Please.

Hi deedee00

Those of us who have chronic anxiety are often plagued by many psychosomatic physical symptoms.

Are your sinus symptoms less severe when your mind is occupied and you are engaged in activities that require concentration?

Are they more prevalent when you are just thinking about your life and responsibilities?

If you answer yes to both questions, it is likely that some of your symptoms are generated by anxiety.

Best wishes

Thanks Oldecodger.

No for both questions. It's not pyschosomatic. I have just never heard of sinus infection causing so much pressure that you feel like you might pass out.

It's not all in my head. Well, I guess it is. But you could be right in one area. I anticipate the next sinus attack, so anxiety could be making it worse.

I didn't think about that until you brought it up. Thanks so much!

deedee00,

One of my friends had a sinus infection that gave him so much pain, he thought he had meningitis. It can HURT like the dickens and when your sinuses are messed up, it can affect your balance. I am so sorry you are feeling crummy for Thanksgiving. I guess you have tried all the usual steaming, drinking warm liquids, hot showers and that kind of stuff to decongest you. He finally got in to a doctor--his usual internist said he was booked up. How's that for healthcare? Anyway, once another doc got him on meds, he felt much better within just one day.

Hoping you feel better soon.

Hi Deedee, sorry to hear your hurting. I had that kind of infection twice and it is pure hell. It takes the anibiotics a couple days to kick in. Sorry but I have no remedy other than what your doing and I tried everything. Laying down in a dark quiet room with hot moist towel on forehead did helpsome and alot of prayer. Best of luck on your quick recovery,,,Bruce

I have had sinus infections like the one you mention you have. It took about 3 months to get rid of it with 3 months of very strong antibiotics. These headaches would make me black out with I climbed the stairs to get to my desk at work. I had an x-ray or CAT scan (dont remember which) to see what was going on. Good luck with this. I can relate. Hurts almost like a migraine!

Hey deedee00,

Just saw your post on the Happy Thanksgiving thread and wanted to check in with you and see how your sinuses are doing. Hope you are feeling better after your Mom's home cooking. I did have a very good Thanksgiving and hope you did too. At least you got to go to your Mom's for a couple of hours. Hope it cheered you up.

Pestercat,

thank you for this post! I was wondering if this really is a sinus infection. I'm on antibiotics now, so I hope it gets better soon.

I'm so glad you got rid of yours cause this is no joke!

Thanks so much!!

Samcat,

you are wonderful!!

Thank you so much for your concern!

I'm trying to do the things I need to do while the antibiotics are working. I should've had antibiotics long ago, but I kept being told to take sudafed and steam my sinuses, which didn't work.

I had a good thankgiving. I had a good talk with my nephew, who also has anxiety, and he made me feel so much better about a lot of things.

I'm glad you had a happy thanksgiving Samcat.

Thank you so much!!
