anxiety at night
Rdy-
I also tend to have a lot more anxiety at night. I think for me it's because things are quieting down, there's less stimulus around me, so my mind is much more free to wander - and it often wants to wander into anxiety territory! What I try to do is keep myself busy until I'm tired enough to go to sleep. That usually get's me through the anxiety.

Add me to this group! Nighttime-before I go to sleep and awakening are my two worst times of day. SeaRunner--I think you are on to something with that. My husband says that my nights are so bad because I am starting to unwind and then my head is filled with all those glorious obsessive thoughts...ugh!!
Yep, night time is when anxiety is generally worse. But there is a reason for this, we set ourselves up for this by our own thought process during the day and continuing them at night. You need to BREAK that cycle!
Lesson 3 addresses this issue pretty well, I recommend re-reading that chapter.
Also, don't watch any scary movies, TV shows or news in the evenings before going to bed. Your subconciense mind just sucks it up like sponge and thinks it's all real. Do some deep relaxation exercises like Ci Gong in the evenings instead of watching TV and you will see how much that helps. One more thing, stay away from sugar and caffeine, especially in the PM. God Bless and Peace be with you.
