Sometimes I start to have trouble breathing. I know that it is just because of my anxiety but I have a hard time believing myself when I tell myself that it is just my anxiety. Does anyone else have problems with their breathing when feeling anxious?? Also do you have any tips or suggestions??

Hi Music,

Yes, this is a very common effect of anxiety. the best thing you can do is start breathing exercises to slow down your breathing. It takes getting used to. Also use the realaxation tape. Convincing yourself that it is just your anxiety also helps--tell yourself it cannot hurt you and try to float through it. Good luck and we are here for you!

Yes, breathing dificulties is a common problem with anxiety. i think you will find that most, if not all of us have this problem. I even have it when i run. What i have found is that it's only a temporary thing. What you need to remember is that your body will correct it on it's own. it's kind of a fail safe mechanism. I noticed that my breathing straitens it self out in about ten minutes as i run. it's a difficult thing to stop, i still havent and i finishd the program in March. The biggest difference is that i don't panic anymore. I know that it will correct it self soon enough.
