I have been suffering from anxiety for over ten years now and I can't take it anymore. I recently had an episode while crossing a local bridge and just the very thought of having to cross it gets my panicky (my son resides part time over this bridge).

To make a long story short so I don't feel any crazier then I already feel and since it has been a pretty long time since I have really taken an attack, is it normal to feel it creeping up on you? For example, I was sitting at work today and it felt like everything drained out of me and my face got real flush. I felt really ancy and sort of nervous like I was waiting to pass out. My heart was racing quite a bit and for the next twenty mins to half an hour I felt limp.

Please let me know if this is normal. I'm scared out of my mind and I can't go through this again. I had the program years ago but am wondering if it has changed.

Thanks for your time.

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear you're feeling so bad... It's so depressing to feel this way. I was wondering, have you been tested for thyroid disease? And if you have, did they give you a copy of the results? See, you can have symptoms but still be told you're 'normal' from the bloodwork - the normal range is very wide.

It's a good thing to get checked, because stress can trigger thyroid disease or aggrevate a low-level existing thyroid condition, and the symptoms are so similar to anxiety that many doctors tell us that it's all in our head...

Best wishes!
Arwen
