I have always been in a low income bracket, raising 3 children on my own. I also have a bad habit of spending bill money on anything except bills. I have heard this is a part of bio-polar disorder. I always feel guilty after it is done. Then I suffer from anxiety when the bills are due and I don't have the money.
I must admit that I don't have guilt and anxiety too much any longer, but I still would like to be responsible financially. This is a serious issue for me. I am now single with adult children and I can't afford my own place because of my debt.
I am paying into a bankruptcy settlement where my take home pay is less than what is deducted. I guess I'm just wondering if this program is going to help me control this aspect of my life as well as the others?
Does anyone have compulsive spending habits?

I've found that this happens no matter what income bracket we're in. If you make 2,000.00 a week, 3,000.00 will be spent. If you make 500.00 a week, 800.00 will be spent. I was the same way. I'm on a rotating lay-off right now, so I coupon clip and save $$$$ by searching the sale adds. It took a while (month or so) to get used to the new spending habits, but I made a promise to myself that I would NEVER spend more that I make again. The way I look at it is that if I don't have the cash, then I don't need it (except for emergencies). I found that the over spending has to do with my need for control. In fact, the opposite ends up being true. After I got home from overspending, the panic attacks will hit. Take it one day at a time.
