I was talking with several dr's a few days ago. They were talking about cleaning out the system from time to time.
They talked about coffee enemas???
Couldn't there be a more natural way to clean out your system? Couldn't eating certain foods do the same thing like fiber? Just curious?
What does coffee enema do for a person? How does it help? Why coffee? Wouldn't the caffiene cause problems?
Another Nutritional question
"Friend or enema?" LOL
Beth there was a time I use to put a lot of faith in enemas but I don't so much anymore.
Many years ago DH and I got a very expensive home colonic machine, so we were pretty "into" them, so to speak!
But over time through a lot of research and reading and personal experience my views changed on that.
One of the reasons is seeing a real doctor's video of the inside of a colon, actually many different kinds of colons, healthy and diseased. None of them had "impacted" fecal matter on the walls.
In fact, the inside of our large intestines are the same tissue as the inside of our mouths. There may be "pockets" in the intestinal walls, and there may be constipation but there is no compacted matter sticking and packed into the intestinal walls, and a lot of companies are trying to take advantage of naive consumers by selling their supplements and devices, trying to convince them that they need to get rid of this "stuff" from the colon walls.
I think for a chronic constipation issue, and used very infrequently they may be of some help, but I don't think they can do anything that a clean diet and exercise could safely and gently do over time.
