I'm in session 4 of the program and although I'm managing to get my panic attacks under control, I'm still having issues. One is when I lay down at night I have this throbing in my head it's not really a headache just feels like my heart is in my head (if that makes any sense)also I'm feeling a little overwhelmed cause I feel like I'm not getting everything done in the program although I'm doing my best to keep up. I just don't want to feel like this anymore, I want to get better. I have two year old and he's been sick and my nerves feel like there shot, I don't want to take any nerve medication because I want my help to come from God and I feel some amount of guilt from taking them, does anyone know what I'm feeling???
Hi Godsmystrength...I'm on session 3. I wouldn't rush myself if I were you...take your time do this at your own speed. Medications aren't for me either. Actually I think they just mask the problem. You have a lot on your plate. Give yourself a break & remember God tells us "pysician heel thyself"...which means to me that He has given us the power within ourselves to do that...I think this program may help us to find that power. You are "precious" to Him! Don't ever forget that...
Godsmystrength, I think what you're experiencing is stress. Be kind to yourself and allow yourself to feel the anxiety brought on by the stress of having a little one. I have an 8 month old and believe me, me nerves are stretched to limit it seems. What's worse is my anxiety is all health related. I feel this cloudy head feeling and I get thrown into a vicious cycle. I don't sleep well and the merry go round begins. Take it one moment at a time and try and give yourself a break if possible. This will allow you to focus on something else. Stick with the program and keep working. You're not alone in this...
Godsmystrength, I just wanted to encourage you to not feel guilty if you need to take medication to help for a little while. I am a born again Christian and have been on anti-anxiety med for awhile. It has been a help to me. Think of it this way, if you had a thyroid problem and needed to take medication for it, wouldn't you? If your child got sick and needed to go to the doctor, wouldn't you take him? God sometimes works through doctors and medication. Pray about it and if you have peace, go ahead and take something. Just don't beat yourself up as that will only add more stress.
Just a little note: In scripture, where is says, "Physician, heal yourself," it was Jesus speaking about what the people would say to Him. Luke 4:23
I do believe God is our healer and He can use whatever means He chooses. Best to you.

Hi Godsmystrength, When you are anxious try and remember that this is a process. There will be many more great days and some tough ones as you move through. I agree with Ms. Hopeful, about medication, there is nothing to be ashamed of or feel guilty about. I struggled with taking medication also, not for religious reasons, more so for the stigma attached to it. I did a lot of research on medication and what I found was that as you become less anxious because of the medication, your brain actually makes new connections with new habits and learned behaviors. In essence it allows yourself to learn a new way to live, without old habits and thoughts getting in the way. Eventually you get weaned off the medication and the new connections are stronger than the old ones. Hope that helps.
