woke up gasping for air!
Okay thought I was doing great...not having much anxiety during the day but I woke up gasping for air! It was like I could not catch my breath and very scary. I only experienced this one other time and looked it up on the internet. Everything pointed to a panic attack in the first stages of sleep. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of panic attack? Please help! I have dealt with anxiety for 15yrs on and off and never have experienced anything like that before.
This only happened to me once and I was having a nightmare. So I just tried taking deep breaths really slowly and it helped but it did take me a little time. And I got some water too and was able to go back to sleep.
I quit watching news at bedtime and making sure that I didn't watch or read anything bad before bed too. I read prayers or scripture to relax and that helps. Take care I hope you sleep good tonight.
