I think this may be the cause of my anxiety and depression. but I just don't know what way to turn.
I work 40 hrs per week in a factory, pay is low and we are always broke, this week for example with bills/cost of living we don't even have enough money to grocerie shop, you are working day in day out for basically nothing. Its always been like this since I got married 5 or so years ago, Life wasn't supposed to be like this, no money for treats/vacations, christmas/birthday presents have to be bought on credit, Life is not pretty and in todays climate you are lucky to have a job let alone one you want or pays goods.
I remember as a child in the summers I used to go and stay with an aunt who lived in the country, She was very poor and lived in an old cottage with a tin roof, she grew all her own fruit and veg, she didn't own a car, didn't even have a TV, and this was only about 15 years ago, Yet she was the happiest person you ever met, she had nothing yet was greatful for the smallest things she did have and I loved going to stay with her, I just wish I could be more like this, but now adays there is so much pressure on having material posessions you feel depressed if you can't keep up.
Working for basically nothing you feel depressed and as if whats the point in life, add to that in a job you hate, Is life always going to be like this? If so I would be better of dead, the only thing thats keeps me going is my children, I don't know if you've read any of Lucindas books, she talks about her parents being poor, living in a brown shingle house on a dead end street, well that is like us, alcohol is also used now and again to numb the pain.
Life is a struggle

I'm very sorry to hear of your struggle. It's so hard to deal with many of the difficulties in life. But one thing we have to learn is that life is not always fair. There are some things we can change and there are others we cannot. If your job and financial situation are somethings you can change, then develop an action plan and make the necessary changes. Do whatever you can to improve your situation. However, if it simply not possible, then it's time to accept it and move on. Just be sure to be honest with yourself whether this is something that cannot be changed.
Attitude is everything. The example of your aunt is perfect. You don't have to be wealthy or own many material possessions to be happy. Learn to be grateful for all that you already have. Remind yourself of how many people in the world that don't even have a fraction of what you have. Be positive and be kind to yourself.
Be well,
Jamie
