Going insane is one of the most common of all the fears that come along with anxiety and panic attacks. However, to my knowledge, panic attacks do not cause insanity and the StressCenter.com Program says the same. If you were truly going insane, it would likely be from another underlying problem. And even then, people that are insane generally aren't aware of it and wouldn't even be asking. So the fact that you are questioning your sanity is a good sign.
Rest easy and remind yourself that you suffer from anxiety and it's common to have irrational fears with this disorder. We tend to view everything with a catastrophic ending and think that we're the only person that has these thoughts or that we're the exception that breaks the general patterns. The good news: you're just fine like the rest of us! You're not going to die. You're not going crazy. It's just anxiety.

I had two really bad episodes of severe anxiety...one time I didn't sleep for multiple days straight and ended up in the hospital. One I was able to stop the snowball of symptoms (in my case, with the use of medication), I slowly got better and I'd like to say, saner than most people i know!!
Relax, because the fact that you worry so much about this, you will never become it. It's better to focus on what is going on in your life that is making you focus on that fear rather than the actual problem/s. Good Luck.
