Hi Becky,
My brother does with lots of symptoms.Mainly because he was in 2 rear end car accidents years ago and now has back problems too.Symptoms cam be anything like tension in the neck all the way to feeling that your head is going to explode. The important question is are you under a doctors care with this head pain,I would assume head pain.Symptoms like migraines could be multiple things so you should see a doctor. For more general symptoms and what you should do google migraines or go to web MD.
Sincerely,Sit

I agree with sit...symptoms of migraines are so vast and can vary per headache. Some migraines don't even come with a headache. I've been getting migraines since I was 12 and they aren't fun. Most start with just a normal headache on one side of my head that progresses into a very tight feeling that can go all the way down to my neck...throbbing when bending over...sometimes it doesn't do that. Some make me very sick to my stomach, some do not. Some give me auras or floaters, some do not. The worst one I ever had was about a year ago where I had an aura in my right eye for about 15 minutes with no headache than boom was slammed with a headache so bad and fast I felt like I was hit upside the head with a frying pan. My hand went completely numb and my face tingled. Rushed off to the ER, thought it was a stroke...but nope a bad migraine. Thankfully *knocks wood* that was the first and only time I had one that bad. I feel for people who get them that bad all the time. I also get occular migraines where one of my eyes will go funny...like I can see more light coming in or like I'm looking through a reflection on a window and I don't get headaches with those. Usually after a migraine I'm extremely tired for a day or two.
Does this help you at all? If you are new to migraines, you should speak to your dr. I've gotten accupunture for mine and it works in minutes...but most times its too much of a hassel for me to drive across town to get it done.

I used to get ALOT of them. I get them infrequently now. I can tell the difference between a headache and a migraine easily!
When mine start, it is almost instant that any type of movement, sounds and light get me SO very nauseous. If I sit or lay still in a dark , quiet place, I will be ok for a bit. BUt the symptoms of the hurting head and nausea to a lesser degree wain on. I then usually take an a acetominophen and about 1/2 hour later I vomit. After that, I feel just fine, headache is gone. Mine is triggered by foods. I have nailed down some foods, but at times, the things I did eat seem safe but caused a migrain. I noticed that if I stay away from wheat products, grains (like corn), soda pop and chocolate I get NO migraine. Also direct sun exposure when hot and humid most times will guarentee a mirgrain. There are books written about food allergies, those can bring on migraines.

Becky,
I started having mirgrames when i was 5yrs old. I was taken to a doctor and tests done. My mother had them too. When i was a child, there really wasnt anything they would do for them. You just waited them out in a dark room, and tried to sleep them off.
My doctor in later years told me, its hereditary, but, certain foods etc can trigger them mpre often.
I had two kids a boy and a girl,, my son has them , my daughter doesnt.
Mine start with an aura,, like zigzag lines on one side of my head or the other. that lasts about 30 minutes and then the headache starts.
But u can have migranes without the aura,, they just suddenly start hurting.
Typical migrane, is on ONE side of the Head or the other. You can have diarreha,, nausea, numbness in your fingers, all part of migranes.
But they have LOTS of preventatives now, and medicine you can take if you get a migrane..
Stay away from MSG and Nitrates... nitrates are like in sandwich meats and franks..... I Hope this helped u.. Nelly:)

I get eye pain, mostly with the light sensitivity. Maybe go get an eye exam first. Maybe you are haing eye strain that is causing intense headaches and even migraines. My mom was having really horrible headaches, she got an exam, new glasses and her headaches are gone.

Becky -- I have suffered migrains for about 18yrs now-- my migrains always start the same blurred floaters and eye strain (like I took vasaline and put a smear on the right side of my vission), durring this time my eyes will not focus -- I can see individual letters of words but can not put them together to make the word (no matter how small the word) -- I think this is a concentration issue -- if I take IB proifin now, with in an hour the systems will be gone with no headache -- if not then the pain will start and it could be days before it is totally gone -- I have had numbness and garbled speech also to where I thought I was having a stroke and ended up in ER -- my seem to be brought on by stress and I have learned that I am actuly having systems days before the vission issues -- I will become angry at noise and light 1-2 days before the migrain starts -- if I take IB profine at this time I can stop it before it starts--
hey there.
I have pinpointed most of the food triggers which is mainly mushrooms. I know a miagraine immediately my vision blurrs and is to the point I can look in a mirror and not see myself.. crazy! I then get tired, nauseated and hot. Eventually the headache sets in and can last for days.
I also get triggered sometimes when I see my chiropractor. Do you have any back problems?
Someone mentioned to me that when they were on Zoloft their vision was effected to the point they went for an exam and everything was fine. I just stopped zoloft and cant believe the difference in eye sight. Yucky! if you are on a med or just changed that could be it too!
HOME REMEDY that works: lay in a warm/hot bath and consistantly keep a cold cloth on the back of your neck. 15 minutes should do it, the change in temp from the blood to the brain helps relieve the pressure!
I would try an eye exam and a food journal!
Best wishes!

Hi Everyone,
In response to beckyphoenix, I have suffererd with painful migraines for years, i am now 42. Just recently i have had, vascular migraines, which make me have a blind spot in my vision, which freaks me out and then zig zag lines for 30mins. It is never followed by a headache. These are becoming much more frequent, weekly, which accelerated my anxiety and made me do the programme over again. I have been to neuros and had mri's and they all deduce it is a vascular migraine. I have been under a lot of stress, i am wondering if there could be a hormone implication too.
I would also get an eye check if i was you. I was diagnosed as having glaucoma, in my search for what was going on with me. Good luck.
