ok so with valentines day right around the corner i have a question: with a brand new (like 2 weeks or so) relationship, do you just assume that you're doing the valentines gift exchange thing? plus, what kind of gift do you get a guy for valentines anyway? i've always thought this holiday was more girl-oriented where gifts are concerned.since we havent talked about it, i guess i wont get him anyway. as a guy, do you think he'll be offeneded since we didnt say anything about it anyway?

Be honest. If he asks you to dinner or whatever I would say he wants to celebrate Valentine's Day with you. If you don't feel comfortable buying a gift then don't. You can always admit you weren't sure if it was appropriate at this point. The next day send him a valentine's card or a note telling him how glad you are that he wanted to spend it with you. Heck you could give him the card that night. He may not know what to do either!

Cards are always good. When my husband and I started dating, we didn't do gifts for our first Valentine's Day - just cards and a nice dinner.

This year, I got him a CD of music I know we'll both enjoy - it's hard to get 'guy ideas' - I agree! :)
