How long have you been on the Program, and have
you remained drug free or did you still need an
anti-anxiety drug?

Hello Deb! I started the program in March '07 and got up to tape 12 when I relised I wasn't progressing as I wanted to. I went through the coaching program because of this and finished that in the late summer (end of Sept. or early Oct.). So, I guess I've been finished for about 4 months?

I'm still not entirely where I want to be. In fact, I've had some anxiety today. I take Effexor - which I understand is good for anxiety and depression, though for me, it mostly keeps the depression in check. I'm at a super low dose of 37.5 mg every second day. I think this low dose is ONLY possible because of what I learned in the course. I have had Ativan in the house and will take one once in a while if I am wound up and can't sleep - maybe one every 2 months or so.

For the most part, I'm pretty light on the medication and just do my best to work the stuff in the program to feel better when I need it!

:)

Welcome to the stie Deb!
I finished the program in 2005. It was a life saver for me. It gave me all the tools i needed for anxiety. It also helped me realize, I had lots of work to do on myself! But, it also showed me how to use the tools given me.
I realize not every program is for every person, but im so glad i got the program and YES, im pretty much anxiety free! I have times when circumstances happen like any human, but i have been taught the skills to not let it cripple me any longer. Life will still surprise us every day and although we cant always stop some of those surprises, we can be prepared!!! Thats what this program has done for me! I would recommend it to anyone with Anxiety!! I wish you GREAT success on your journey with the program,,, Nelly:)

Deb,

I can't say enough about the program and the wonderful people from here. I'm almost finished taking it a 2nd time now, this time with a coach. Some of us need it more than once. How long have I been this way? Long, long time so I can't be disappointed that it's taking longer than I'd like. I really have come a long way. I recently just drove a 4 hr. trip to a friends feeling much more confident. I'm hoping to share in the driving when we head to TN end of next month. I've never done this before. Inch by inch. Do I still have bad days? Of course and will till the day I die but like others said I have the tools now and the support of people who have been thru the anxiety/dep like me. Look forward to seeing you in chat sometime.

Hi I've finished this program in the spring of 2007 and I've learned so much from this program. I was a wreck but now I feel great. I've learned so much about myself. I think that everyone should own this program because everyone in the world experiences anxiety to some degree at some point in their lives. Anyone would benefit from this program.

Hello I have a question to some of you that posted about a coach. How do you get a coach and does that cost extra? Thank you for any information.

NELLS: Great reply sweetie!!

This PROGRAM has been an absolute GOD SEND. No, its no GET RECOVERED OVER NITE QUICK FIX - change takes time. This program gives you the skills to handle anxious moments & info, to change those parts of you that CREATE THE ANXIETY DISORDER. This program told me everything I didn't want to hear, but everything I so TOTALLY NEEDED TO HEAR. As Nelly said, it made me realize there were things ABOUT ME that NEEDED TO CHANGE. C/D BY C/D, as Lucinda describes the various personality traits, lord have mercy - she was DEAD ON W/ ME - so much so(accurately) it was like she knew me all my life. When, I realized that - the light bulb went off. My anxiety was baddddd 3 yrs ago when it triggered: was forced to not be able to work, needed an anxiety med 3x's per day & 2 sleep aids for severe sleep deprivation(1-2 hrs per 24 hrs). LOL, I WAS A WALKING 2 WEEKS OF OPRAH - no joke. NOW, today - I am recovered: I haven't taken a sleep aid in 1 1/2 yrs+ & I haven't taken an anxiety med since Dec-2006. Do I still get anxiety - sure. Anxiety in & of itself, is a HUMAN EMOTION. The difference now is MY MINDSET/HOW I REACT TO IT & LIFE OVERALL - Basically, like Carolyn says in the program - the world didn't change, the people didn't, the facts of my life didn't - I CHANGED.

Deb, this program is the best investment you have made in yourself. Here at StressCenter.com(chat & forum), there are some of the nicest, most compassionate group of people you can ever meet. This is KEY - so as you take your journey to recovery, you know - YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

Best of Luck,

LENORE

HI!

I do not come on here much anymore. WHY? Because this program (along with therapy, family, friend and StressCenter.com members support and other self help books that addressed things I really needed extra help with, such as self esteem)has truly given my life back. I am busy with living again! I am a full time college student, am an active part of my community at school and church. I drive 6 hours away to visit my step daughter, I drive into jammed traffic in Chicago (I hate sitting in traffic because it is such a waste of time, but I do do it :D ). I see that I was creating my own walls with unreal, untrue fear. Just plain fear, assumptions on what people thought or said about me or my family, my jobs, etc, etc. I just needed to step up and step out and just do whatever was my fear no matter how uncomfortable it was...because that feeling was temporary. The more I did, the easier it got. The program and support here gave me the strength when I doubted myself. See the beauty of this program is that you have it for life. If you need a boost just listen to the lesson for a refresher to remind you of the skills. I still listen to the program even though I finished it up almost 2 years ago. This is a new way of living and will not just sink in by osmosis. It takes work and dedication and even then...we are not computers and cannot be programed. Things come up in life as we know and we need to work through those. Some will be easier than others, but we can live our lives with confidence, without drama and chaos, and find peace and calm inside us. YES US! So this is something we work everyday. I still read self help/self improvement books. There are no quick fixes to this. I lived that other way for 35 years and those involuntary actions and thoughts are hard to break (even to this day I catch myself at times), but over time, patience and practice as well as belief in ourselves we can (and do) get our lives back. My life (and my husbands life) is better than it has EVER been! We are enjoying life and one another!

Good luck! Have you find inner peace!
