Hi im new to all of this. I seem to start feeling better and then wham i feel down and out again. My husband left me in nov and took my step son with him. I have two boys of my own one with my husband. I still am very much in love with my husband.
I had been drinking a lot through the years. (self medicating). I didn't know i was depressed and very anxious. I have quit drinking (its been 3 months since my last drink). I am also on medication for my depression and anxiety. I don't know if it is working. I feel better for a little while and then i feel like life is over and I cant deal with it. Any ideas or answers? Its so hard to deal.
is it me or does life really suck sometimes?

Yes, life is hard and it will take time to heal. Keep working on this program and keep posting, you'll start to feel better and hopefully find some solutions to your problems. Paislee

Now I'll raise a few more eyebrows. I am not Buddhist, but I believe that we can learn a great deal from Buddhism (a philosophy). The Four Noble Truths of Buddhism are:
1. Life is Suffering
2. Suffering is caused by selfish craving
3. Selfish craving can be overcome
4. The Eightfold Path to overcome selfish craving
I mention this only because Buddhism starts at the bottom, Life is Suffering, and then works its way up to something else. I have found that if I accept life as far less than ideal, I can adjust my expectations and work upward.
You have accomplished a great deal quitting drinking. Give yourself much credit for it. And then work on each next step, however little. We are here to support.

Life DOES suck at times...you think that once you hit 18, you're an adult...but it isn't easy.
