Sweating!!!!

Post by Brandi Menifee » Sat Feb 12, 2011 12:23 pm

Hey guys, for the past few years I have been noticing that my body sweats way more than it ever used to. I am only 31 yrs old, and I keep telling myself that it could be my meds, Lexapro, on them for 2 yrs now, or just hormones. Its kinda irritating, it only happens when I'm moving around, but I could jus b tryin to get dressed or put on make up, and I get hot quicker and easier, and the sweat jus starts to roll!!! I hate it, I can't even wear foundation on my face anymore cuz I sweat too often now. It feels like I've become heat sensitive, and it just gets on my nerves! I could even be just walkin through the mall, not daring to wear a coat, but with just a shirt on, and I get hot quick, and sweaty!!! I'm kinda scared that something could be wrong. I don't feel tired or sick or nothin when this happens just very irritated that I sweat my ass off all the time all of a sudden!!! Does anyone else experience this??? I think I need 2 take a trip 2 my doctor!!!!

Wow, I don't know what would cause that at age 31, I'm sweating now, but only because I'm 56. I hope you can get it figured out. Paislee

Is it like "Hot Flashes"? or just all around "HOT". I get "Hot Flashes" I find when I feel one comeing on I drink icewater. It seems to slow it down and cut them short. I think you are very young for that. Can this be a side effect to your meds?

Hi

I am sure it is the anti-depressent... A lower does may help , otherwise you just have to put up with it

It could be your hormones are a bit out of wack due to the anxiety. I run hot alot and its not a hot flash, its just hot. I do find it happens more when i am hungry or i have not had enough water. Dehydration can do it to you. I get alot of teasing at work because i am always wearing sleeveless tops and sandals. Oh, i live in MN. I have some wonderful sweaters, but have to be sure to wear layers so i can peel. Try drinking more water, and if that doesnt help, get your progesterone level checked. It is probably something simple like that.

Agree that checking hormone levels may be indicated. Also agree that drinking lots of water could ease the problem naturally. Some of us are often dehydrated, which can cause any number of symptoms.

In addition, remember to have a Happy Valentine's Day. Maybe a nice chocolate heart helps.

Hi.. this is my first time on the message board and your dilemna hit me right in the heart. I too have been experiencing crazy sweating. Although I am of an age when menopause my be starting, as an RN I know this is not the case. I don't feel "hot flashes" but will just sudenly begin sweating. I wish I knew the answer and wonder if it is caused by the anxiety i feel all the time. I carry around a little fan and plan my activities around what type of clothing I wear because anything with long sleeves or knitted is a big no no. As I work as far north as Hudsons Bay staying warm is hard when all I want to do is wear light t-shirts. I find sleeping with a fan aimed directly at my face when sleeping helps a lot (although is hard on a marriage where my husband is always cold). I hope you find comfort soon.....Kelly
