I'm still struggling but I found that my 11 year old daughter can be very helpful to me. She has offered to help me with my room and that cheered me up alot. She has a take charge attitude and I need someone like that working with me even if it is a child. I have alot of work to do but I'm trying to work on it daily for small amounts of time.
Hi Struggling Christian.
My mother has this issue, too. She has accumulated so much stuff she doesn't know where to even start. In fact, I have a brother and a sister that fit the description as well. In talking to them, the common issue from all three is that they feel they must look at every single item and contemplate over it as they go through things. I understand that, but if you do the math you soon realize that you need a more efficient approach. Perhaps you could sort through things categorically, and move things into the discard and give-away piles based on what they are, such as, all toys for kids younger than 7 are give-away, no exceptions.
