Hi everyone. I just need to hear if anyone else has these symptoms. I was sitting at my desk at work and got this really sharp pain in the center of my chest just below my color bone. It would stay for a couple of seconds and the go a away. Also, My forearm has bee aching all day. I'm paranoid that I'm going to have a heart attach and I'm only 23. Now I'm really tired. Anyone else get this?

Yep, I get it all of the time. Sometimes my chest pain is on the left side of my left breast, sometimes it is in the middle, it just depends.
I also have had left arm pain numerous times (as well as left shoulder pain).
I've had these aches and pains for years.
Oh, and I am 24. And I've had just about every test under the sun for my heart.

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes it is a quiet voice at the end of the day, saying: "I will try again tomorrow."

Yes, I've had them also, while driving which is my stressful point. I have chest pain and then the dreaded upset stomach sometimes after that. I'm older 45 and my docter tells me I'm fine. I've had my arms to tingle and go numb and been dizzy. I would beg my husband to call 911 and he would have to talk me down. Just listen to the tapes and know that we're here for you. It does get better. Rachel
ever since going to the hospital after my first panic attack (thinking i was having a heart attack) that has been my biggest problem. my worst fear is having a heart attack or bloodclots and dying from it. i have chest pain all the time. you name it, left arm pain, numbness, the whole nine. it terrifies me. but i've noticed it gets worse with stress, IT IS THE STRESS! i am 21 and have also had just about every test done, and they say i'm helthy. it's been one of the hardest things to go through the pain and fear and KNOW nothing is wrong, you have to believe that. out minds can do scary things. and they can actually cause pain, the anxiety can cause the pain you're having. don't be afraid, i promise you are okay. don't let the fear get the best of you. the better i get at hadling my panic attacks the less the pain is, and the less scary it is when it doesn happen
i wish you the very best!

12 years now i have suffered chest pain which in turn causes my panic attacks. also mine is on the left side goes into my arm and jaw neck you name it its there all symtoms of heart attacks.BUT MY HEART IS NOT THE PROBLEM. I cant tell u how many test have been done I even at 24 had dye put in through my Groin to my heart I forget what its called done. and just 2 days ago I brought myself to ER and they did EKG xrays blood. I have healthy heart it my brain that is broken. having fearful thought is a visious cycle u have pain then u have thoughts then u feel anxious then well it hits u full panic attack either I get help from my brothers voice or ER visit( Sad when ER Doc knows ur name just by looking at u)
I copied and reposted a thread called "mind and body sypmtoms due to anxiety" Check it out and you will be relieved to know that alot of body aches and pains are heightened by our obsessing over them and how they feel and so on, and anxiety can actually bring some of the symptoms on. Learning how to give ourselves loving positive calming self talk really helps overcome alot of that stuff. It's not easy but it does help. And ofcourse one should always have a complete physical to rule out anything major but if the symptoms tend to go away once you get home or to your Safe Place or Person? You can be pretty sure it's anxiety caused. I still struggle with a few of the things on the list, but not as bad as it used to be .

I think if the pain lasts a second or two then it's probably muscular in nature, which would jive with it being stress related. I have now come to call this phenomenon my heart attack muscle. It is silly and then I can relax about it. It doesn't happen nearly so much now that I have been doing weight training at the gym and working on upper body strength and upper back strength. I think I was hunching before and didn't know it, thereby stretching out my back muscles and making them weak and clenching my chest muscles and making them tight. I much prefer being buff to having the pains

SunnybOO - I am so there with you. I started having chest pains about a year ago. Checked out, EKG okay, blood pressure up a little, started medication, but it just got worse and worse. Lost my job, yesterday had to practice 6 steps in lesson 2 like 20 times. Think about it, and feel my chest tense up.
I send my prayers and good thoughts your way, and you can send some to me? Maybe if we concentrate on each others chest pain, our own won't be so bad? Hope you are well and taking care.

Chest pain is caused by us being so tensed up all the time. Our mind is always on 'Red Alert' and without knowing it, we tense, always expecting something in the next moment to pop up. Learn to 'Drop The Tension' as a former sufferer tells me! Even after knowing all the knowledge from this program and that man I just mentioned, i still catch myself in a tensed position at times. I catch it and correct it! Don't worry, you will get out of this. It takes time because it's a process, so please don;t rush it. Do the workbook (there are articles with loads of information)and listen to each session 2 times. when finished with the program, do it again. Determination that you dont want to stay like this is a key thing! You will learn how to take your mind off of Red Alert! Many have proven that it can be done.
