Mm, YAY your through it! It takes time to heal. I know some people said oh I was driving in a couple days. Not me. I did take just the Motrin though and you do have to move around some to get all the gas out. I think about a week almost 2 weeks I was taking it pretty easy.
It did seam to heal fairly quick. I felt lots better then. Any time they say surgery and breeze in the same sentance I get worried! LOL...
I wish you a speedy recovery!

Jillzmind, Thats funny about getting paid for this! I agree!
I had a good week, a little negitive self talk yesterday and today. I kept tryimg the positive, comfortating self talk it helped. It really takes time and to keep on working at it!
Hope you both are doing well.
;)

Here's another update re how we process information during anxiety attacks...LOL. I went to see the surgeon 1 week after the operation and told him I feel pretty good except for the tiredness, he said that will go away...then he looked at my scars and said when did you take the top bandages off?
I said well I just took them off yesterday. He said Oh, you should have taken them off after 72 hours to let the air get to them..I said well see I follow instructions to the LETTER...the nurse wrote "the top bandages MAY come off after 72 hours" SO I took that to mean they MAY or they MAY NOT. When they didn't come off, I wasn't about to take them off, that would really send me into panic...lol
I told him, In case you have another patient with anxiety you need to have her write "Remove the top bandages after 72 hours". Anxiety makes you take everything literally...he laughed and apologized.

Mm good for you telling the Doc how it is about how we take things literally. My post op instructions said that my special clear bandages may dissolve on their own from bathing. And they hadn't since I was being careful that they wouldn't(while bathing) so he reached down and ripped them off!! They were like industrial strength clear tape. It freaked me out and I didn't go back to a dr for over a year. Thank God I am much better about that sort of stuff now and now I would just probably Yell and give them a piece of my mind haha "bedside manner!" grrrrr!

The only thing cant seem to get rid of is the dizziness when looking or turning a certain way....but thinking, since I hit 40, could be my eyes are "getting old" lol

You know you might be right about your eyes. I was 40 when I started wearing glasses. I thought for weeks I was just getting dizzy and having some blurry vision from my mascara getting in my eyes or something? I had good insurance then so I made an appt. and sure enough I couldn't see distances clearly. When I got my glasses it was sooo amazing what I could see and enjoy and alot of the dizziness was gone. And headaches too. It's worth checking into ;)

THH and Jilzmind: hello again...well feeling much better...still a little sore and need a nap everyday, but much better than 2 weeks ago when I had the old Gallbladder out! We even went to Universal studios this past weekend...2 weeks to the day of my surgery, I used an electric scooter because there was no way I was walking all day in 9- degrees plus weather...but we had a great and relaxing time. Thanks for all the encouragement...nancy

Thanks for this thread. The last few days I have been having some weird sensations. Lots of dizziness if I turn my head or move my eyes. Feel like I am unable to swallow, strange buzzing sensations. I was actually OK for a while but last week on vacation I went in one of those ride simulators that they have on fair grounds. During the ride my vision became blurred because I was too close to the screen. I then found I was going to vomit so tried to push the emergency button but was held in my seat by the saftey belt. I removed the belt and managed to stand whilst being thrown about and press the button to stop the ride. Feeling rather embarrassed I got out to be told I was the first ever person to use the emergency stop !!
Driving home in heavy traffic I was surrounded by moving cars when I was hit by a bad vertigo and felt I was spinning backwards, that was scarey ! had anxiety attack every day since then along with the thoughts that there is something seriously wrong.
I am so grateful for this site, it has some great info and good people on here !

Wow you had quite an experince at that fair. Major kudos for even getting on that ride. And that crap about no ones ever had to get off before is total nonsense I don't believe it one bit. The one who said that was just probably mad because he had to put down his cig for a minute. As a teen I went to fairs and carnivals all the time and they were always stopping them for people who felt sick or what not. What you felt is normal anxiety don't let it stop you and try (as hard as it is ) to get out there and not worry about those symptoms. That was the past and it's over and done. If you obsess with those body sensations and let them scare you , you can become housebound and that is Not what you want. It was just anxiety , you will be okay. It always passes. Hang in there and keep on keeping on.

Bless you
Jill~
