Thanks for asking. Overall I am good. Thankfully I have been maintaining positive emotions. The only time I get down is sometimes when there's a discussion and/or when talking to a creditor. I cry.

Still sending out the resumes, both for sales and customer service gigs. A major change in my attitude is my improved view of the process and not getting responses or getting rejected. Looking for work is just like prospecting in sales (which I have done.) Example: you call 100 companies to get 4-5 appointments to get 1-2 sales. It's called The Numbers Game, and the same thing applies when applying for jobs/sending out resumes.

My current woe, thankfully less frequent than the prior ones, have been due to the guilt I feel about not saving up when I was younger (hence the aforementioned crying.) When I get a refusal or no reply to a job app, I may feel SLIGHTLY disappointed but nothing like earlier in the year. I shrug my shoulders, say "Oh well" and move on.

I have also made an important attitude adjustment with my project's current lack of success. It's been due to the fact of not having money to fully advertise it. I am still a little surprised that the minimal advertising I did do did not net me more customers since this business is relevant to these bleak economic times. But again I shrug my shoulders and plow on.

I've also read and heard stories about a navy SEAL, and Dog The Bounty hunter. These guys had many years of no success or bad times before they made it. These stories have helped with bettering my emotional outlook.

Now THAT'S a positive attitude, Chuck !

As soon as you land the job, take a certain percentage off the paycheck for savings. It's never too late to start saving. I started saving later then I should've. It hurts at first, but eventually you don't miss it coming off the check.

Keep the spirits up. Sounds like you should be doing some slidin' just for the positive attitude.

Hey, you could become a repo man, or a bill collector or an oil spill cleaner upper guy. THOSE jobs are in demand these days !

Thanks, brother.

Actually I was considering Fresh Air Inspector. :D

Well, as for the classes, it ended up that I'm now putting in a 50 hour week at work. After the rotating layoff last year, I'm taking all of the overtime allowed in case tomorrow is my last day........sorry to be negative, but that's life. You just never know.

I'm doing really good. I'm taking life day to day. If I think about the what-ifs, I'll go crazy. I live in a city where we have a 15% unemployment rate. Times are tough.

I know that I want to go back to college at night, but the $$$$$$ is pretty important to me right now. There's always the semester that starts in January. I got the course book and it has the classes that start in Sept and the ones that start in January.

Right now though, I'm focusing on work.

How was today for you ?

Smart moves on all points, especially taking the OT. You're right about tomorrow might being your last--it's technically a negative, but it is a harsh reality in these tough times.

15%--that is bad. I have a friend down in Port St. Lucie, FL and he just quoted me this morning 16% unemployment. I am not sure what is in my area but I'm positive it ain't pretty either.

Thanks for asking about today. I worked alot on my project, doing my own Search Engine Optimizing with meta tags. I just completed it, which I had been working on since Saturday. I saved $238.00 by doing it myself. Besides the money factor, I taught myself more HTML programming. Except for a smidget of Excel, I am self-taught on PC softwares (MS Office, FrontPage, Adobe) and internet activities.

Today I also have a health concern that I will be seeing my doc tomorrow about. A brief pain stemming from my right groin flashing down to my ankle on and off for almost three hours. It's funny because I had done a post on health anxiety. I thank God for the CBT I learned in 2006 when my health anxiety was past Mars. Since my doc was gone for the day, I did look up stuff on the net. I wasn't freaking out, I just cautiously wanted to make sure this was something I could wait til tomorrow for. For what I read, it could be muscular or nerve related. Blood clot and DVT came to mine, but even then I wasn't panicking like 4 years ago. My wife, who is usually the calmer of the two, is more worried than me.

One good thing about this leg issue is that it snapped me out a plan of action I had been mulling over. It was snowballing the idea of getting divorced. My wife did something over the weekend which was kind of related to things she's done recently that was giving me a perception of her and her family.

I actually thanked God for the groin pain because when I relayed it to my wife, everything else that was in my mind about her fell out.

Another thing was this morning and the book I wanted to take out to the park to read. It's about that Navy SEAL I mentioned earlier. I couldn't find it. I looked in the usual places and was about to say "Where the hell is it?" when I turned around and it was cover up, stuck in my recliner (yes the recliner that I do my imitation of a relaxing cat.) I and my wife have no idea how it got there, and also the way it was wedge into the seat. She jokingly says when something like that happens it is my deceased father come for a return trip to the apartment.

I returned from my MD with a ton of good news: no blood clot, no DVT, I lost 3 lbs in two months, my BP was 120/70 and pulse 70! He examined me fully and said what I experienced was neuralgia. This is pain in one or more nerves that is produced by a change in neurological structure or function. He said it could occur again but it's nothing.

Also, everything is good with the Mrs. and me.
