still worried about heart rate
Just wondering if anyone on tonight has had this problem. My heart rate goes into the 120-130s and sometimes higher just from me walking around (very short distance) and then as soon as I sit down, it goes back down to 80-90s. This is every day, all day, and im not having a panic attack. All my tests (echo, stress test, ekgs, labs, etc) have come back okay. My cardiologist says that its related to stress/anxiety and my therapist says that its due to me being in a constant anxiety state. Can this really be accurate? I am very scared and worried. This has been going on for about a month now. Any comments would really be appreciated.
When I was in the hospital after an overdose and all that med was coming out of my body, I thought all over that I was going to die. My heart would start racing, I couldn't sit still, I thought I was having a heart attack. It got up to 140-150 beats a minute on the monitor. Wish I'd had the benefits of this program at the time. With this program, my heart rate has been lower, my heart doesn't race that high, and I'm able to talk myself down when it does. I've even lost weight which I know is due to less anxiety. I'm not reaching for food all the time. And I think there's a stress hormone that makes you retain body fat. This program has helped me so much. I still have anxiety, but I know what it is and I'm learning to take charge of it and use my positive thinking. Hang in there and work through the program. Repeat weeks that helped if necessary and I believe your heart rate will begin to return to normal. Best of luck. Private Message me if you need to. Beverly
I have had the same problems and in my case it is about 90% anxiety and 10% heart condition. My heart skips, races, slows down, palpitates and I am on a pill to control the symptoms, yet because of the nature of my problem if I didn't have such bad anxiety I would not need the medication as it is a benign condition. Scary yes, but I often remind myself that the doctor's have told me that I am fine.

Tracy,
I've had this same problem - HR up to 130 with minimal activity. Usually 90-100 at rest. My cardiologist tells me it's the result of GAD combined with the "stress of activity." I'm told to only become concerned if symptomatic, or if HR does not drop to my norm at rest. Hope this helps you. Dmarie08

Yup same here - I had weeks at a time where the tiniest activity would make my heart race and my bp go up. i too, at 43 insisted on a stress test, which is fine. but until that stress test - i had myself dead and buried before the week was up. the worry made everything worse. Of course for a couple wks after that appt I doubted the doctore - until i got the program and said 'screw this' - i'm fine - LETS LIVE! and i would say, 99% of my symptoms, fast heart rate and chest pains are gone. I had some stress yesterday, which only left me a little light headed - which i accepted and laughed off - went to bed and felt fine in the morning. YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!! but you should request appt with cardiolgist to set your mind at ease - it will help
