Hi Charlie Brown.... I just read your last few posts and I am so sorry you are being discouraged. You are obviously a very intelligent, caring person- is it possible you are OVERqualified for these jobs? Just wondering....BTW, I'm really glad you took the time to do something nice for yourself(Yankees game) you certainly deserved it!

Hey Chuck !
Lots of people are giving you good advice and plenty of prayers.
When push comes to shove, you are the only one that knows what needs to be done. Stuff has probably been rolling around your head to the point where it's making you dizzy. All I can say is take it easy on yourself. Treat yourself well and don't beat yourself up over this. Who knows, maybe this career choice isn't where you need to be. I'm reeeeeeeal fortunate to have a job. I know that. It a tough thing to be in a place where you're not sure what your next move is going to be. You've heard this a million times before, so I'll make it a million and one. The time that you want to give up may be the time you are closest to a solution and don't even know it.
When you need a break from it, then
JUST TAKE THOOOOOSE OOOOLD RECORDS OOOOF THE SHEEEEELFFFFFFF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, you're right about treating myself, taking it easy, and the career choice. Acceptance, sometimes for me, is not the easiest thing to do. Yesterday I began accepting that sales is not in the cards for me, and there are actually pluses to this. Sales, by nature, is a tough gig. And, after hearing about the bomb intention for Grand Central Station (I would be using the subway line that runs through there), I was like "Maybe it's not so bad, I got refused."
I will work on the office job possibilities. Those are in Westchester County, which is north of Manhattan. I will make that my focus for work and look at other job industries.
I am actually up early this morning working on my personal project. There's only so much I can do because of the job situation, but there's enough to keep me busy. Very often, when I get down because of the job thing, I don't have much energy/desire for my project.
Thanks!

Was there a bomb threat at Grand Central Station ?????
Maybe you could use the personal project to get your mind off of the job situation. Concentrate on that for a while.
From what I've heard, you are right. Sales is a real stressful job. It can take quite a bit out of you. Would a change from that really be a bad thing ?
It's now the weekend Chuck. Plop yourself into the recliner and channel surf for a while.

You got it right, brother, when you talk about the personal project as a distraction, and channel surfing in the recliner

Yeah, sales can be tough. But I recently came across new sales techniques. Man, (no pun intended

My project has a connection to sales and when I was working on it this afternoon, I had to resist calling that manager and ask him what happened with the VP.
It's funny. None of these companies I've been applying to since January knew about each other. And yet they all rejected me in the same ways: direct passing on my candidacy or never replying to follow-up.
Oh well.
Thanks, brother, for asking.

Hey Cloie,
Great, great messages! You're definitely on point especially with your first posting. Ironically I had musings the other night similar to what you said.
I have a ten year old nephew who can be kind of vocal when he doesn't like something or can't get his way. He doesn't throw a tantrum but like kids his age he will say loudly "I want it," or "Why?" The situation with his denied desires struck me as very similar to my current denials.
He is the child, who wants something. I or my wife or his parents are the parental figures, saying no to what he wants for a good reason. I am like my nephew; I want something. God, my heavenly father, is denying what I want for a good reason.
I am now about 95% over not getting the sales gig. I expect to be completely over it within the next week. This acceptance has much to do with what you said, again, especially in the first message.

I will not, I refuse , to argue religion when it comes to getting well; what I do know is that I was brought up strictly Catholic, became a devout born again Christian and taught Sunday school for 10 years. I can quote the Catholic bible, King James version, New Edition, and Hebrew along with a few others , I lived with a concordance crosrefrenceing and studying to be sure I lived by the word of God. Well then I found my heritage who I was, where I came from, my people were in ancient Sumeria before Jesus was even a thought, they killed before the Jews in the holocoust and taken as whores by every race that came across them.I have prayed for an answer and what I recieved was another rape or beating. What I learned from myself was hatred is for the weak at heart because it takes to much energy. Please do not tell me that a man who lived a simple life a preached a simple life with good teachings will save me from what has been going on inside of me for the better part of thirty years. Confusious taught the same simple teachings as did many others and you do not look to them. The way to salvation is simple ans said all the time by someone you would condemn to hell for being gay.....RuPaul say "If you can't love yourself , how the hell you gonna love anyone else" now can I get an Amen
