I was diagnosed with diabetes a few weeks ago and this has caused problems. During the last 2 weeks, my panic attacks and depression have reappeared with a vengeance All of the symptoms have returned. Please help!!! I am back on xanax and lexapro. The general anxiety is continuous. Please help

So sorry Fr Bob I hope that things get better for you as you get your blood sugar level stabilized. I hear those low glycemic diets actually help lessen panic symptoms? Hang in there :)

Hi bobpriest-

I imagine getting all the news about diabetes is quite a shocker. And then the what-ifs really roll.

I would get really analytical on the diabetes and learn and practice all you can. Take the fear out of it and control what you are able to. And remember that anxiety rears up when you feel out of control. Dig out the books and info. you have on anxiety and get back to practicing. Sounds like a speed bump to me-- totally logical. My prayers are with you. For trust and perserverance. Hang in there.

Thanks. It's a big speed bump. Being put back on lexapro - need time for it to take some effect. Any suggestions as to function normally each day. Do I just ease through the panic or do something else? Any suggestions - control is a big issue.
