my topsy turvy tomatoes were pitiful LOL of course that may be because i had these big as my pinky finger green catepillars all over it. they were beautiful and ate like field hands LOL

snake burning? it has a haunting sound to it LOL i haven't seen annie - yep i named the anachonda in the back yard - anymore since she went into the lower back part of the yard. i hope she doesn't come back. the boys will kill her and bring her in the house. i know it - just like they did with that possum LOL

i painted the back door and trim cranberry red yesterday. i'm not painting anymore today! my eyes are a bit swollen. it could be from the paint OR front leaving the back door open all night with a fan on it because it was still "tacky" and i didn't want to mess up the trim. i put the baby gate in front of the door so the boy couldn't roam in and out all night.

this morning it's overcast. it may or may not rain - the official weather report is as vague as me LOL the weather could be another reason my eyes are a bit swollen.

today's goal is house work. just the fact i can say that and be looking forward to it is downright scary LOL

someone remarked the other day that it appears i'm nesting. i guess she's right - yet i don't know why? for whatever reason i am extremely motivated right now - i'm in new territory here LOL x forever

when my now almost 13 year old niece was born, i'd fallen asleep in the sun. my throat and neck were burned to the nth degree and then some. when i first held her - i was in the room when she was born! - i said "hi, i'm your aunt and i'm a redneck" LOLOL

no - it wasn't the derby - it was a day at the races (the marx brothers) at churchhill downs! going to the derby has never been a big dream of mine. wondering why here? LOL

mama is from kentucky - 7 sisters and brothers. when we have family reunions we wear name tags because nobody knows who anybody is anymore LOL there will be a million and 5 people running around clueless as to who they're related to by blood or marriage or happenstance.

you can actually go 30 miles in your circle and have agoraphobia? i am SO jealous!!!! LOL while my area is expanding, 30 miles alone might as well be a galaxy far far away!!!!!

well i've done IT. i've been into the dark recesses of both my closet AND wardrobe! i would NOT let myself do another fun thing until i went to the dark side LOLOL i've switched out winter for summer clothes. i had NO idea i have so many red sleeveless tops. there are like a gazzillion! the best part is i found my favorite t-shirts - yayyyyyyyy. super cool ones that say things like "a good planet is hard to find", "twin peaks sheriff's department" - you get the drift! AND i'm actually throwing out 2 or 3 pairs of shoes keeper chewed and i know i'll never get fixed and a pair of boots that leak. i've got 3 pairs of shoes in a bag to take to work for a friend. i am SO proud of myself - not bragging - just so proud to get something done that SO needed to be done. the closet had become a danger to all living things.

now i can sit in the sun for a bit and try to start tanning the FRONT of my legs. i sure won't be letting the sun begin to see my back LOL

while i don't enjoy severe weather, i'm not super afraid of it anymore. in 1994 when hurricane opal blew through here my 100 year old giant oak landed on the house with me, mama and my best friend sitting in the living room. it was close to the house so it didn't have any chance of picking up speed and came to rest on the part of my attic where the cedar closet is - that's what kept it from really doing damage. the front bedroom took a major hit - along with the hallway. all i know is i heard this huge sound and saw part of the living room ceiling coming down. we weren't at all hurt - except being nervous LOL

you're wondering what point i'm trying to make? so am i LOL i guess it would be i lived through not having a bit of control over anything that night? now when it's bad, i turn on the weather channel if i hear the sirens go off and hope for the best.

sunshine time!!!!!!!

Hey everyone......some real horror stories here about opossums and snakes....I cannot kill anything....not for no reason....I save everything. Thats why I guess I am a Registered Nurse.!!! I have 2 stories, I will make them brief.....I worked for a park...they had black snakes in them, also corral snakes..(correct me if I am wrong) I had entered the parks police station one day, walked into small hall, dropped something off and walked out the same way...only to find a black snake about 6 foot curled in the corner. I went back inside and told the police officer behind the desk....I came back out, passed the snake again and went out to my car to get a long stick I had in the trunk. The cop stood befind this heavy glass door while I attempted to get the snake out and down the steps. In the process the snake arched up, standing about 4 foot he lunged toward me,I anticipated this and estimated how far he could actually jump at me before moving him with the stick. I didnt hurt him, that wasnt my intention. I knew that he could only lunge as far as he is long. He proceeded to come out of the station as the cop watched behind the door and didnt attempt to help me.!!! I felt better, and so did the snake. I would be embarrased if I were the cop!!! I also have opossums where I live...I find that they are very mind their own business type animals....I had a fairly large one camping out near my backdoor, it was comfy there and some stray cats would actually stay there as well. However...one night I came home from work and found Mr. O camping out right by the door I enter to get into the house. I had my trusty flashlight...I poked him gently with a stick and he refused to move, I would never intentionly hurt an animal when all they are doing is trying to survive this horrid world. He didnt move even after I threw water on him.....after all my attempts to get him out of there I decided to climb over him. He showed his teeth once, never moved and I entered my house without incident. although I pictured those teeth grabbing my ankle it never happened. Opossums mind their own business, I never really saw one Play dead, only not move for a prolonged period of time...they are very awake and aware, they have to be if danger is around them....I have raccoons and skunks too...but as with the others I find them entertaining and living a very tough life......I love animals....in fact I just found a poor tiny baby bird that met his demise from falling out of his nest.....very sad. Animals are wild yes, and could be dangerous when you bother them....but I find no difference between them and the human race at times. I have saved so many animals from illness and cars in my lifetime I really should have become a vet instead of a nurse...But I get too upset when animals are killed, are hurt intentionally by people, and get sick. I hope everyone got a kick out of the cop....he was a real doozy. creamcheese......

Uh Oh! Now I feel like I need to explain why I am a snake murderer. I love all creatures, too and so does my daughter...in fact, she wants to be a Vet! For years my husband has called me Ellie Mae because I always have a "critter" I'm trying to save. The problem is that I have a pond where I live on one side, swamp on one side, and woods everywhere else. If we see a snake at the pond, woods, etc. we go our way and it goes its way- we figure that's its habitat. Sometimes poisonous snakes come around our house and won't leave so we shoot them because kids and dogs are always around the house. We have had 3 dogs bitten by rattlesnakes and one by a mocassin. 2 survived but 2 did not and it was very painful to see. So.....if a poisonous snake comes around, we have to decide who goes - kids, dogs or snake. I'm sorry if this offends anyone but it's just the way we have to live- hope you can understand. Forever Young... I don't know how you could NOT be stressed! I'm so sorry about the horrible weather you've had, I saw a little bit of it on the Weather Channel. I hope things are clearing up.

No worries Can't dance
I am with you. I LOVE animals and rescued animals growing up and also thought about getting into veterinarian medicine. But snakes to me are nasty reptiles and although they may serve a purpose somewhere? It's not in my life or around my loved ones. If I saw one near my house or garden I would def. get rid of it. They are not warm cuddly creatures looking for a friend , they can be very dangerous.
Anyway don't feel bad it's okay to have your own convictions ;)

hi everyone!!!! snakes, possums, and all of us - sounds like an anxiety filled episode of sesame street LOL

it rained and rained here today. not like in tennessee or anything like that though! it was just a steady, hard rain. we have to walk across a huge parking lot to get to the building at work and people with walking around sense have bought galoshes. i'll be buying some soon LOL it was one of those days everybody just stayed wet or damp!!!

it felt like such a long day too. the last 3 days of being able to move around and paint and such - not be tied to a desk - spoiled me LOL

i TRIED to have a panic attack yesterday driving to the cracker barrel with mama. i pulled over and took half a valium and a 10 ml inderal. i knew there was no way they'd have time to even begin to work but it made me feel more secure - or something? anyway, i breathed myself and mama there - it's only a couple of miles. i think part of why it started is i'm overtired, i've overly sunned myself, i've smelled too much paint. also, i'm not eating enough and drinking iced coffee by the gallon. throw in smoking too much - and there you have it. bringing things on myself! solution? knock it off and be better to my body and myself!

i just looked up tomorrow's weather. it's supposed to be sunny and 86 degrees YAYYYYY

i hope everybody's today was great and that tomorrow rocks and rolls!!!!!
