I've recently written in to this post about my obsession with thinking I'll never be able to sit back and enjoy music again. Lately, with the help of the people who replied to my post I have been able to find some relief from this obsession. By floating, trying to accept, and trying to live in the present the music obsession has diminished somewhat. However, it seems as though the amount of scary thoughts about all kinds of things has increased. I'm not stuck on one but it seems as though a whole bunch of them are flooding through trying to stick. Is this just my mind fighting a new way of working? I was feeling good about the music thing subsiding a little and it seems as though my brain didn't like this success. Anyone else experienced this? Love to hear some advice. Thanks alot. Hope everyone is finding peace in their lives.

Hi Mack,

When we begin to work on ourselves that scare voice or what I like to refer to as the ego thinking mind gets louder and louder and LOUDER because it is fighting for its life - so to speak. It does not want you to succeed. When we are not aware of this we fall into "its" trap and go back to talking back to it, and get depressed over it, etc, etc. The only thing you need to say to your obsessive scary voice is "Whatever". That's it. Don't get into a funck about it. That's exactly what it wants you to do. That's what keeps this voice alive and coming back. Just say: Oh, I recognize your style now and I don't have to follow you anymore." (Eckhart Tolle). Just be the Watcher of your thoughts. That's all you have to do. These thoughts lose their power when you no longer react to them. Keep practicing and keep up the good work. The very fact that the thoughts are coming at you stronger and louder is a great indication you are getting better. Please persevere. You'll make it.
