if it is all anxiety, trust Lucinda and the other posts on this site. B-R-E-A-T-H-E. oftentimes (heck- mosttimes), a lack of oxygen from improper breathing can both create and fix this problem. Check your posture and breathe deep from the diaphragm.
what has worked for me is just reminding myself that it is only anxiety. It cannot hurt you. i know that it does not feel good. i know that it is frustrating and maddening at times. but let go.
float with the feelings, and don't fight them. accept them for what they are, symptoms of anxiety and you are safe. breathe.
speaking from experience, the worst thing that you can do is react to the feelings, because this not only keeps the feeling around longer but it also worsens the condition.
if you don't react, and just accept, they will not get worse and will probably lessen. then distract yourself. go do something, despite the feelings. something that you will be engaged with, and may even take some time.
you may be surprised to turn around, and an hour or 2 (or 3
) have passed and you forgot about your feelings.
and if you can forget about them, then they are anxiety.
