Hello everyone!
I'm new to this program. I actually found Lucinda Bassett's book "From Panic to Power" and I was impressed. I have not purchased the program yet, I would like to know what you guys think of it? I have been dealing with anxiety since 16yrs old on and off and not so bad Meaning years without any.I am now 29 and in this past yr it has been worse.Actually this past month has been the worst this is why i am here :) Now im suppossed to go for an Mri and i feel even more anxious because what if there is something wrong. I have been feeling this tingling in my feet and pain in my legs sometimes tingling on my hands.Last night and this morning is the first time i felt it on my cheek and tongue. I'm so scared.
Thanks
Sonya

HI Sonya,
I am on lesson 7. My husband has seen some progress.Due to some major rejections the last few weeks I have really went backwards but I used what I learned to keep going. Still not easy. I think it will really help you. Also you are young. I wasted too many years dealing with depression and anxiety(this program also helps me see why I react to situations.)
It takes a lot of work. Maybe some who are further along or who have completed the program will give you more feedback. Also I think its normal to feel somewhat anxious going to the doctor.

Welcome Sonya.t79,

First off I am sorry you are going through all this..but try to not do the WHAT IF something bad is wrong with me. Most who have these symptoms find out there is nothing medically wrong that it's the anxiety causing these symptoms. I have had them my husband has them and lots of people on the site have them.

We ALL tend to think the worst possible scenerio and that's what gets us to this place.
The thoughts run and destroy our lives, it's so involved and the program explains it very well. Is it worth getting the program....YES, YES, YES. So Worthwhile but it's how you use it and how hard you work at all of the aspects of the program that gives good or bad results.

I wish you well, good luck with your test and please let us know how you make out.

Well Wishes, God Bless

Hey, Take heart, I too deal with tingling in my feet, my hands, my face, cheek, tongue.....even swallowing etc. Honestly I've been dealing with anxiety for 18yrs now, I'm in my early 30's, Anyhow I've noticed that my bodies reaction to stress change over time, first it was shaking, panic attacks, then a few years later, I'd have chest pain, after mulitple ER visit, ekg, sonagram, halter moniter, etc they said stress related. Now it's tingling numbness etc. I"m chalking it up to old back injuries and stress. When I stop thinking about it, or go out and do something it gets better, when I focus on it, it seems worse. Plus we all worry about our health, thinking we have somthing awful when were probably just fine. The next time I wander into my dr.s office i'm going to mention it. But for now, I"m going to pray, get some peace from jesus that he's in control, and get some sleep, b/c I"m really tired, and everything seems worse when your tired. =) Hope this helps alittle, just know your not alone! Much peace and prayers.

I got so bad with my anxiety that the tingling turned into severe muscle weakness like I had the flu everyday. Now with the program, I can believe that it was anxiety causing the problem, and the weakness has gone away. worrying about the weakness and the dizzyness made me think it was my heart, so then I even ended up with chest pains, palpitations, and I even got out of breath just to try to make myself walk accross the room. Anxiety really can make you think what if and worry more, causing more anxiety. What a vicious cycle. If you are too nervouse about the prgram, you may need a medication to help relax your mind to get you started. Don't worry about your MRI. I have had two of them for my dizzynes and weakness, and both came back just fine. It is all about your mind being obsessed with thinking the worst about any situation. You can over come this. I am hopeful and believing in the program. Let me know how things go.
