Hi, I'm Debbie and i am new to the program. My trouble started a month ago when on a nice quite relaxing Friday night, my hear started racing, didn't know what was happening, my husband called 911 and my heart was beating 220 beats per minute. I was put on blood pressure meds and Adavan, and all kinds of tests, but for weeks afterword, was terrified of being alone, wont drive , they say it is an electrical problem in the heart and may never happen again, and the BP meds should keep it at bay but it was terrifying, they used an IV medicine and had to stop and restart my heart 2 times. Has anyone experieced this type of episode?

I did when I was 28 wks pregnant with my first, and my huisband was across the country. it happened again when he was 2 weeks old. Because I was alone with him so much, and by then petrified of this happening...my cardilogist reccomend an ablation procedure which corrected the problem.

I had some rapid heartbeat during my second pregnancy, but it was atrial fib - due to anxiety (because of that first incident and my secret fear that it would come back!)

Anyway I haven't had that particular type of episode in 3 years now. It is a simple procedure. I was awake (though well drugged) throughout. I watched the whole thing on the monitor as they did it. It was one night in the hospital - the hardest parts were missing my seven week old son and pumping and dumping breast milk because of the drugs.

Hope this helps.
