I'm very agoraphobic, i've been working on it though. I'm having the worst time with driving alone and being home alone. i would love to talk to someone that has been extremely agoraphobic with being alone especially driving but has overcome it!

TWEETY,
in 2004 when i was going through the program. and i will try and make it brief..if not then please read my profile..
i had been diagnosed with agrophobia, panic, anxiety, depression and of course luncidas favorite IBS.
as i got more into the program and got the tools and skills i ventured more out of my comfort zone..i took the tapes and cards with me in case i got stuck and could read or listen to the tapes..it worked for me and if i can do it you can too.
remember this the more you do it the easier it gets...then in 2006 i woke up one day and i felt normal. well as normal as i think i am lol.just a little humor..i could do things and go places that i could not do before.here was someone that servied 22 years in te military, drove a transit bus almost 10 yrs before i let panic and all that take over and i quit.and, the last one was resident manager ofan apt building where i had all of the above mentioned symptems..i moved ot north carolina and remarried and here i am..happy and free and I PRAISE GOD FOR THAT..
i hope that helped.

When I was 19 my panic/anxiety began, at first I was convinced I was dying, and I began to have many panic attacks every day.

I went to many hospitals, and they ruled out physical ailments, but the panic attacks remained.

I quickly became agoraphobic, and remained that way for over a year.

Eventually I began to understand panic attacks better and became more proficient at stopping them before they culminated. After that it became easier to take baby steps. For me it took time and work but it is possible!

Hang in there!
