Hello! OK, I have the complete program, but, for a million stupid reasons, I have made it up to only Lesson 4. On October 21, I have signed up to go to Denver for a business trip. This would be a HUGE step for me, as I have not flown in 8 years, and am agoraphobic and have anxiety problems. Can anyone recommend what I should absolutely do with the program in the next 28 days that will help me - is it a Lesson? or the relaxation tape? or affirmations? I have a good start (good attitude), now how do I make the most of it so I get on that plane? Thanks so much.

Theresa, I havent been on a plane for 12 years and i know i will be anxious once i get on one again. But it's important that we start facing our fears. Remember, that it's normal to feel anxious when you haven't done something for a while. Just keep going through the sessions weekly, and it doesnt matter how far along you are when the day comes. Use your relaxation tape a couple of times each day just to help make your body automatically . It's important to k now taht we will never recover until we face our fears and step through the door. Feel the fear and do it anyway like Lucinda says. It's obviously easier said than done, but once you get on that plane and make it through the flight, you will be so proud of yourself. It may help to bring the tapes on the plane with you to help you relax. I wish you the best of luck, and remember that we will never get better until we start facing our fears and stepping through that door filled with anxiety

Thank you John :) I am a BABY about the "feel the fear and do it anyway" part. I use Xanax to stave off the physical symptoms. I know that that is what I fear the most - fear of the symptoms of fear! Crazy!! But thank you for your words - I can't argue with logic. :)

Hi Theresa, I agree with john19 as well. Try doing other phobias or fears you may have other than the flying and see how those feel to you. I was very anxious on planes too. I was afraid of heights. Just being 4 feet off the ground, I would get dizzy and anxious. I am on the 3rd lesson and I climbed a ladder and there was no fear or dizziness. So try other fears first. Baby steps.
