I have bad moodswings. I feel like part of the month I'm okay but when it gets close to that time of the month things get bad. I get tired real easy. I take naps. I usually start isolaliting myself from my Husband and children.
I will stay in my room because I'm so tired. Then I get depressed because I'm alone. I get real irritable. I lose my temper real easy.
Then when I start...It's like I turn into someone different. I have more energy. I can think clearer. It's like I start making up for
lost time. I feel so bad for the way I acted during that week or sometimes two. I hate the way I feel. It makes me angry to know I have to deal with this every month.
Can anyone relate to what I'm saying? I hope I'm
not the only one that goes thru this month after
month. I know we all have pms but...this feels like a jekle and hyde kind of feeling.
The last time I had a gyn. check-up. I told the doc. all about this. I told him to do every blood test he could do. I was already on an anti-depressant so he could'nt say I needed that. the blood test showed I had low testostorone! i was like what, you got to be kidding me....(To Myself). He put me on birth control pills. I had my tubes tide!!! ugh
He said it would help to balance out the hormones. I tried that for a year. It didn't help. I was so discouraged that i didn't go back
It's been 4yrs. I guess I need to try to find
another doc. It's really discouraging when you
feel like you don't know what to do. I'm only
36yrs.old! I pray it's not early menopause.
I have felt like this since I was in my 20's.
any advice would be much apreciated.
Any other Woman feel the same?

Hi Karen:
I may not have advice but I can say that I understand.
I am past that time in my life. But I read where some young women are going to naturopathic doctors and herbe; specialists.
Since it appears to be harmonal, I am not sure that antidepressants are the answer. But I'm not a doctor.
I will say a prayer for you.
I think that you need a good doctor. You shouldn't have to suffer that way every month.
I would think that menopause is a natural event.
But I didn't have much experience with it. I had a partial hysterectomy when very young. They left the ovaries. But of course those ovaries don't function any more now. I am a much older woman.
Best of luck!!!
You'll be in my thoghts.

I started taking herbal supplements for my hormonal imbalance but I just started so i dont see an improvement. I'll let you kknow in 2 weeks. good luck and your not alone! See another dr and get the help you deserve. Oh and I am only 23 so age doesn't matter with our hormones.

Hey Karen...wish I could say, I don't have a clue as to what you're talking about...but I'd only be telling a story. Ugh...I can most certainly relate. I hope you find some peace in knowing that we're in a big boat with alot of others! Take good care of yourself and see if you can't find another doc that you can relate a bit better to?!! Best wishes!

Hi Karen:
I know exactly what you are talking about. It is just a horrible feeling. It is good that you realize what it is. It took me a long time to figure that out believe it or not. Now when it comes I just tell myself that is because of my cycle and it will pass. It helps a bit, but I too withdraw and sleep alot. The part of naming it helps me to feel that I am not going crazy. My feelings also disappear the minute I start my period. It is like I am a whole other person and I just thank God that I am back. Good luck to you. And don't wait to see another doctor. Your health is very important.
Peace,
Cris

I understand those feelings and can relate somewhat. I notice that I am happy usually when I get my period -- like my system is being cleansed. I think for me the only reason I get grouchy is I get worried about my future and sometimes I get tired of the struggle (when my life becomes a struggle) and I resent (almost) other people for being happy and being in loving relationships. This doesn't last...I stay positive as much as possible, keep busy doing constructive not destructive things..and try to stay optimistic. I am starting to exercise more and adjusting my diet a bit, cutting down on the "guilty indulgent" foods.
More from me soon.
Good luck -- I hope things are working for you Karen.

I'm right there with you. I LOSE IT. I can pretty much mark on the calendar when I'm going to go nutso. And then as soon as my period comes, almost immediately, it's like the crazy is pouring out with the blood and I feel like a normal (whatever that means) person.
They won't give me the bc pill becuase my bp is high, so I just cut out table salt from my diet and for the last two months, I've been completely unaware of when my period was about to start.
I'm not saying that's what did it, although it's a pretty big coincidence. I also try to dial down the stress during the prime PMS times.
If you find something that works for you, let us know. You're not alone!
