One very bad trait that I've had for quite awhile now, is this absolute feeling of "need" to check my vital signs. Anytime, anxiety hits me I have to know what my blood pressure is (constant monitoring with a wrist monitor), I have to know what my temperature is (instant read ear thermometer) and I always am monitoring my pulse. I grab my neck and sway and two fingers to the neck artery...

Anyone else? It's ridiculous, really. But, I still and have done this for years.

Well I don't have quite the same symptoms, but I do CONSTANTLY check my pulse, I have my fingers on my neck more than anywhere else!! So I don't think it is terrible. It's not hurting anyone to check your vitals. Good luck to you.

Tania, It has been so amazing to hear from others and the things that they do. I do check my pulse, not all the time but when I feel scared or anxious or when my heart starts palpitating. Hope this helps.

I used to be hooked up to my BP cuff about non-stop and even took it with me to work!! Thankfully we own our businesses and could do that. But it took me a LONG LONG time to finally realize that my BP was reacting to anxiety. I with the program talked about that more often. My Systolic would be high and Diastolic would be normal. When anxiety wasn't present my BP was normal. A doctor even tried putting me on a BP med - which actually about killed me because my BP dropped down SO low I woke up in the night and it was 40 over something. The next day I went to see the doc and she said "Well I guess you don't need BP meds". This was before I started the program and was searching for help. Obviously this particular doctor had no clue I was suffering from panic attacks. I do wish, however, that the program talked more about elevated BP so others wouldn't get scared - cuz I sure was. I'm detached from my BP cuff now and thankful for it. I periodically take it - but it's only several times a month now rather than 5x a day like before. Thank God !!
