Hi everyone. I just started the program. I suffered a nervous breakdown 3 months ago and time is so slow for me. I need prayer to find faith and to stay positive. I want to revover from this but all I keep focusing on is the mind chatter, and time and my symptoms, medications. My mind is all over the place! Please help me find faith and focus. I constantly obsess about not remembering yesterday. I just need to trust that this program along with God, will work. I need prayer for patience and understanding. Thank you.

I will keep you in my prayers. Praying, reading the bible (or listening to it on tape),and listening to Christian songs/sermons will be a great help. It helped me. Remember "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength."

I'm praying for you as I reply. I can relate to some of things that you experience. You are doing something right because you know that faith and prayer can make a difference.

God Bless!

I find the relaxation tape is helpful to clear of the chatter/business in my mind. Even listening to Lucinda in that weeks lession helps to focus on what to do now.

Journalize is another one of those helpful aids that is recommend to do. I am working on this one myself so I can see how I am doing in a few weeks.

God's peace and blessing to you.

A scripture which has helped me is "behold, I make all things new", and :"be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind". - Not sure of where they are in the bible, but they are there!

I know this: that God is a good God. He hears your prayers, and that is why you are here, with this program. This program works, if you do what it tells you to. It seems that I am always saying this, but it is true. If you want good results, do what it tells you to, to the best of your ability. Don't skip around. One thing that I do is keep one of those 3X5 card- spiral things with ruled index cards. I write down things from the program that I really need to get or that has been inspirational to me. I also put in it scriptures that help me and other inspirational sayings that help and uplift. I seem to add something else to it everyday. Then I flip through it when I need a boost or just to review what I have learned. I like to put in it some of the main topics or steps from the book. You might try this, it helps.
Here are some of the scriptures I write in my index cards:
Matthew 6:25 (Amplified BIble): Therefore I tell you, stop being perpetually uneasy (anxious and worried) about your life....
Verse 34: So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble.
1peter 5:7, Casting the whole of your care (all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns once and for all on Him, for he cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.
Phillipians 4:8 For the rest brethren, whatever is true , whatever is worthy of reverence, and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and loveable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things (fix your minds on them)
I love that one! It is so true, if we just took that one scripture and did that, think of all the troubles we could avoid and how much healing could come to us and others around us.
Phillipians 4:6 DO not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything by prayer and petition ( definite requests) with thanksgiving continue to make your wants known to God. vs.7 And God's peace shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul, assured of it's salvationthrough Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot lof whatever sort that is, that peace which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
I have so many more as well. Look up these:Proverbs 3:5. 1 Corinthians 2:16, Nehamiah 8:10, mark 9:23 Luke 4:18, 1 CORINTHIANS 10:13, psalms 37 THere are so many more I would love to share but I will stop here. Yes we will pray for you. Also put your back into the program and God's word and you cannot fail!

Hi Terrym79,
There is a Christian preacher/teacher named Joyce Meyer. She has helped me so much in the past year to just "enjoy everyday life", which is the name of her TV and radio program. I used to read very intense spiritual writers (Spurgeon, Tozer, and, my favorite, Andrew Murray) but I have found lately that I need "down to earth" teaching to keep me grounded. I especially like the way she teaches on 1 Peter 5:7 (which Elizabeth quotes above.) Joyce says, "Say ALL, Casting ALL your care, ALL your anxies, say ALL, ONCE AND FOR ALL ..." That emphasis really worked for me. (Sometimes it is easy to skim over the very words that we need to concentrate on the most.)
I will definitely pray for you. I know God hears even the faintest whisper when we cry out to him:)
