Jesus Took Your Sickness Away
Bishop Keith Butler
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:4-5 (KJV)
Understanding what Jesus did for you on the cross will help you to connect your faith to God's healing power.
God loves you. He thought about you before you were a twinkle in your daddy's eye. He already made provisions for your body long before anybody ever thought you'd ever be around. That's called a God who loves you, a God who cares, a God who's on your side, a God who wants to make sure you are blessed in everything in your life. He wants you blessed in the city and blessed in the field. And most importantly, He wants you healed in your body.
Isaiah says, "Surely, he bore your griefs..." The word "grief" means sickness, disease and pain. "Sorrow" means pains. In other words, surely he hath borne our sicknesses, diseases and pain. The word "borne" means to suffer punishment for something. So we can conclude that somebody deserved punishment, somebody deserved to suffer, somebody deserved to have cancer and AIDS and sickle cell and lung disease and heart disease, and other diseases. Who was it? It was me and it was you.
We were born in sin, our forefather's sin, Adam's sin, and Eve's sin. We deserved to have all that, but Jesus bore that punishment in our place on that cross. He took in his body every sickness, every disease, every pain, every AIDS, every cancer cell, every lung disease, every heart disease, every kind of sickness and disease for you and He bore it away for you. Why? So you don't have to have it.
With every stripe Jesus took on His back, He was looking at you. With every stripe He bore, Jesus was thinking about you, knowing that if He took it, you would not have to. Now that is love.
You don't have to be sick. You don't have to die prematurely. You don't have to lay down to the devil and say, there's nothing I can do. There's one who's already done it for you. His name is Jesus. He's the same yesterday, today, and forever.

YES JESUS DID!
JESUS TOOK YOUR SICKNESS AWAY?
I totally feel like God has changed me. After going to a Christian conference and really connecting with Him my entire outlook changed and my focus was no longer self-centered. I started to think of all the good I could do for others, instead of scaring myself into a panic. My anxiety is almost completely under control now, whereas before I was barely functioning. God has incredible powers of healing and knows exactly what to do to heal us from whatever makes us sick.
Believer08,
You are right on target with the Holy Spirit tonight! I was having pains in between my ribs so bad that I almost threw myself into a panic. Instead I went into my bathroom and hit my knees in prayer. I told God any sickness and disease and all these pains that I have for me to be healed at this very hour at that very sec. I am tired of feeling chest pains because it throws me into a panic. Well tonight it was different I also asked for him with tears beginning to form for him to take the need for me to want to smoke away and for him to make me whole just the way I use to be. I also asked him for a childs mind, (the one that doesn't stress and has pure thoughts and always positive). I need that in my life. I don't feel as though I am myself without it all. I have been keeping a positive outlook on life and I am now being able to do things that I once couldn't do, but then I realized that I wouldn't have any panic if I didn't have the pains. I told him that in His word that he says that by His strips I am healed and asked him to heal me. I felt one hard pain and none since. I then prayed for him to put a hedge around my prayers so that the enemy couldn't interfer. I got up wiped my eyes and am now not paniced and not afraid anymore. I feel no pain any longer neither. I have had a huge fear from my chest hurting like there is something wrong with me and maybe I should go to the hospital but right after I pray for the pain to go away it stops. ( a trick from the enemy) I am too young to have anything wrong with me the way that I am thinking and I finally asked for the Lord to heal me not just take the pain away. I felt lead to go to the bathroom and pray right in the middle of me going through paper work. I just wanted to thank you for your posting. I needed to read that! You are so special to me in all that you do. You post things that are a confirmation to me and it makes me feel so close to you because I know the Lord uses you always for me. Ever post on the same day is directed soley to me. I am sure there are many others out there but for some reason I feel a connection to your words. Kind of like when you turn on and listen to a preacher and you feel like he is talking only to you. I just wanted to thank you for this tonight. God bless you!

Amazing that you say that Jennifier about the bathroom. Many, many that are close to me use the bathroom as the bible quotes..."There prayer closet" It is a private time only between you and God.
I am so happy that this thread was able to help you. Yes the enemy is always playings tricks and of course the bigest liar out there .....But I love what you did....You didn't panic adn you went straight to the throne....I know its hard sometimes to pause and start praising....But praise is our most strongest tool to Stop the enemy in his tracks...Stand on Nahum 1:9 that this affliction will not arise a second time.....
Always know that you are a blessing to me as well.

Believer08,
I have alway went to the bathroom when I need to really pray to God and need no interuptions ever since I was a kid. I from the time my daughter was little would tell her to leave me alone if I was in the bathroom and she has gotten that down since she was two.
Thanks for the verse I had never read that before. I opened my Bible and read it and wow that was something I have needed to read for years now! God bless you!
I have been through the panic attacks way to much in my life. I at work started to panic but instead I immedilatly prayed for the Lords covering and WHAM it was gone. I love knowing that no matter what the Lord is there and I belive so strongly that my full faith that I WILL be healed is what I have needed for some time now. Thanks for all of your encouraging words! God bless you!

Jesus Comes Alive Through His Word
When I accepted Christ into my heart, I did not simply embrace a great spirit, idea, or concept. I embraced a Person---Jesus Christ. Jesus is more than a Savior. To me, He is a friend and a daily companion. As I read His Word, He becomes real and alive in me, and He can become real to you, too, as you study the Bible.
I believe studying the Bible is an essential part of your Christian life. It’s the most effective means by which you can get to know Jesus Christ as a person. God communicates to us through His Word. I came to know Jesus best by reading the four Gospels---Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John--- and the book of Acts. In these books I followed Jesus as He ministered to people with deep problems, and I began to find answers to my own problems.
But don’t stop with the Gospels and Acts. I have read through the entire Bible many times, and each time I have found something new and exciting that has helped me in my walk with Jesus.
The psalmist said, Thy word have I hid in mine heart (Psalm 119:11). I would suggest that you find a version of the Bible you feel comfortable with, one that speaks most clearly to you. Then read and study it often. Soon your Bible will be like a close friend to you.
God’s promises are promises to you. Believe them and claim them for your own. In God’s Word you can find the answer to every problem of your life.
