I wrote this February 19, 2008 about 4:30 AM.
I was in a deep hole.

I wake up in the night time,
Are you there? Do you care?
My life is filled with anger, depression and despair,
But you are there and I know you care.

We're only here a short time,
and this is not our home.
It's only part of our journey
and the end is not our tomb.

We're Heavenbound to glory,
Our eternal home awaits.
The exit from our valley
is really Heaven's gates.

In our Father's house are many mansions,
Jesus told us so.
The fears and tears that plague us,
Will be a vanquished foe.

Eternally we'll dwell in the presence of your grace,
And eternally we'll praise you and wonder at your love.
For you are always with us
and yes, you really care.

So take away my anger, depression and despair,
and give me peace and hope dear Lord,
For you are always there.

Don, Your poem is beautiful. It warmed my heart to read it!! I love to write too, and I find that when I'm at my worst with the panic/anxiety, my soul dictates the most meaningful words.

God love and bless you!

Hey Don,
Not only was this probably helpful to you in writing, just think how many people you've touched by sharing your work- me, for one. Thank-you.
God bless,
fischee

You write very well- clearly we can all relate to the content, but your rhythm and cadence is spot on. Well done! Do you have more to share?
