This is such an emotionally charged time for all family members and people can end up saying things they don't normally say. Everyone's nerves are on edge and everyone wants to do something but sometimes they don't know exactly what to do. You can only do the best you can and when harsh words surface (and they can, I've gone thru this before) tell yourself that it is the worry and stress causing these words, and not something you or other family members meant to say to hurt anyone. Do you possibly have a pastor from your church that could come and pray with all of you at the hospital? I've seen this occur in the hospital with families all together, and it is amazing how much it helps calm everyone down.

Thank you ALL so very much!!! you guys are the BEST!!! I am going to see my dad again today :D and I will be going with my sisters. I really appreciated all the encouragement here, it made me "feel" better about the whole situation. My brother is hurting and he is scared(being so far away and not really knowing what's going on) We contact him daily about dads progress, but he doesn't always get the messages we leave..He is going through a divorce on top of all this, and his "family" isn't concerned enough to give him our messages. Yes, I have to understand where's he's coming from (anger, etc). I'm giving it all to God and letting him "take the wheel" from here on out. I know I've been forgiven :D "one day at a time sweet Jesus" is my song today. I love you all and I feel so blessed to having you all in my life!!!!

God bless ALL of you

Robin,
I'm new at this (my first time on here) but just wanted to say HANG IN THERE!! Life is
tough and sounds like you ALL have a lot on
your plates....your brother is in a lot of
pain right now w/his situation. Just call
him and apologize if you have to, but don't
let this come between you two. You know that
God would not want that! Family is soooooo
important, we have to treasure them.
Good luck girl...will say a prayer for you all.

Hello everyone! I just wanted to give you an update on my Father and the situation with my brother. First of all, Dad is doing really well :D :D :D. The Docs told him yesterday that there is a possibility that he will be coming home by Thursday. All the praise to our Lord and Savior!!!! There was some concern as he was retaining alot of fluid. He wasn't able to urinate, however we were told that it's pretty common with major surgery. He had a cathader in until yesterday morning, but was still unable to "go" on his own so they had to put it back in(Dad was NOT to happy about that). As of late lastnight, the nurse informed me that they took it back out and he was able to 'go" twice on his own..again, I thank GOD for his awesome healing powers!!! My husband, mother and I will be taking the trip back to Seattle this morning.

As for my brother, like you all said, it did blow over..I spoke with him yesterday to give him all the updates, and it was as if nothing ever happened. I put him on the phone to briefly talk to Dad and he sounded more relaxed. I do realize now that he needed someone to 'vent" to and I was the one he felt he could do that with. I don't agree with how he did it, but never the less, it's done and nothing can change that, however, I CHOSE to take a different approach with him and I CHOSE to have a different attitude about the whole thing. He was afraid and felt helpless being so far away from all of us. In a way I think he felt "guilty" for not coming up to see him and guilt can make us react irrationally(DUH!) I know I've been guilty of that a time or two  anyways, it's "water under the bridge" and it's over..THANK YOU GOD!!!! Oh and by the way, I DID apologize, and he did, as well :) I LOVE him so much and miss him dearly..I've never argued with him like that(okay maybe when we were teenagers ;)) But never in our adult lives..He's my twin and he is my wonderful "other half", so to speak.
Again, I thank you for all your concern and prayers. I will get back to you all later in the week. Take care and God bless you all.

Good morning,

I am sorry I missed this post or I would have responded sooner. I just got the email notice of a reply.

That site is awesome. The beauty is that SSC is such a great song writer and performer, that he has such inspirational songs for almost any thing that life throws your way, and being able to access and hear the full length song makes it such a blessing. What a wonderful gift he has given to the world. What precious child of God he is.

I am so thankful to be able to share, in my own small way, that gift. But all the thanks go to the Father who made him and gave him such a wonderful talent. Yesterday, I was going nuts for the Great Adventure album of 1994. It really picked me up when I was so far down.

It's all these little things that God gives us, that make to bring Joy into our lives that mean so much. Wouldn't you agree? It is also a way of showing us through song that He loves us and is with us all the way through this journey.

Super

Hello again everyone :) Well Dad is on his way home this morning :D Well, not home exactly, but he will be going into the "rehabilitation" center here in town. Just a 15 min. drive as oppose to 2 hrs. of driving time..ahhhhhh, I can relax now. He's doing really well. He is now able to walk on his own. He had a drainage tube in his neck, however that was removed last night :D I praise GOD for taking such good care of him!!! This situation could have gone any way, and either way, It would have been Gods will! And that is what our prayer was and still is! "Lord, let your will be done". I continue to thank everyone for there concern and prayers, and ask for continual prayer for complete restoration. We had quite the winter storm last night, so we're praying that God keeps "them" safe today as they travel from Seattle Hospital to Bellingham "Rehab". The roads are a bit slushy so...

Take care and God bless you all

Mom of 6:
Guess it's been longer than I thought since I've been on the forums; I would of responded sooner had I been. What an AWESOME GOD we have :) Not only has He been with you and your family every step of this journey but He has given your father the strength to recover in a timely fashion. Hopefully, by now he is home closer to the family.
As for you and your brother, God had His hand in all of that as well. He forgave you probably much sooner than you forgave yourself ;) I am so glad you and your brother are spirital and mature enough not to let such a trying time come between your relationship. That happens so many times in families :(
Take care and God bless you!!
