The spiritual response to anxiety and depression

Dear all of you. I have finally settled on a definition of religion and christianity. Religion and practices are man's way to reach God (Creator) etc. Christianity is God reaching out to man through His Son Jesus christ. Christianity is a living organizition not not an institution. Many may not agree. But this is a forum for all to express their beliefs and feelings. This course has helped me tremendously. Haven't had a panic attack in weeks.

Have a great day!!

Dearest All,

Thank you for your posts; the biggest help for me is hearing what you all do to help yourselves!

I agree with the post which states "...this is hard". This is hard, my biggest and worst enemy, at times, is me/my own mind. All the old tapes run constantly, don't they and they are DEEPLY embedded.

I, too am on disability but fortunately, my husband still is working. I am also, unfortunately, 7 years his senior. And it seems my body is aging so much more quickly due to the stress/anxiety/depression. But I am a "betweener", not old & not young anymore. Sometimes being active is not an issue and other times I dread getting out of bed.Staying engaged is the hard part...especially when I lack stamina.

Thanks for not leaving me here alone, gang.

I was very moved by your most recent post. I, too, am an in-betweener, at 55. Forced retirement goes against everything I was taught. There are times I feel useless, but the good news is I am starting to put Part 5 into reality, the part about nutrition. I find that I like the healthy, natural food better!
I'd like to share something from a song I wrote, called "When Did We Get Older?"

Just as you're the perfect kid, it's time
To be grown up
And the rules get broken and changed
And right & wrong get re-arranged.

By the time we live our lives
They put us away in a closet somewhere
And we don't know where the time goes
As we watch the doors slowly close.

(chorus) Is it my imagination?
I only ask the question....
Is the world really colder?
And when did we get older?

As you and I grow old together
Love just gets a whole lot better!
And I say all the things that my father said
To the young ones...who just nod their heads

(ch) Is it my imagination?
I only ask the question...
Is the world really colder?
And when did we get older?

I hope you like it. I really pray for all of you who share yourselves on this site. You've helped me more than you know. rob

Dear Rob,

Thank you for sharing your song with me. I do like it; it is comforting.

Sometimes the guidance I need comes in unexpected formats.

Bless your heart,

herebedragons, I pray that you don't think of me as imposing on your little thread!!! I just felt the need to tell you that I prayed to Jesus today and I did pray for you!!!

I feel like you need help that only He can give you dear friend!!! He truly is the answer to all of our problems and concerns in this life!!! He is also the "Ultimate Healer"

Jesus placed such a great love in my heart for people when he saved my soul 22 years ago!!! My heart is full of love for those who are suffering as you are!!!

I am not religious, either, but, I am "Spiritual" because that precious gift of the Sweet Holy Spirit was given to me freely 22 years ago, and He lives within my soul!!!

I know that you are an open-minded person and that is why you began this thread!!!

Because of your open-mindedness, I would like to share a little inspirational video with you!!!

I pray this video truly helps you in all areas of your life!!!

Here is the video... The Dash Movie

May God Richly Bless Each of You is My Prayer!!!!

Thank you for your gift and your prayers...just because we do things differently doesn't mean that life doesn't meet in the middle, somewhere.

Blessed Be.

Thank You for your kind words about the song. I looked online (and around here) for a place to express my real thoughts to people who wouldn't think I was crazy. I have found that place. God bless you. I'm getting stronger than before, and may write a book. Stay with it, it's worth it. May everyone have all the love in the world. rob

Herebedragons,

I just wanted to say 'thanks' for starting this topic here. I was scrolling through the spiritual support topics, and noticed that nearly every one was blatantly Christian. I am not Christian, so I was left feeling a little stranded - alone on my little raft of unconventional beliefs, in the middle of a river of scripture.

Thanks again for throwing me a spiritual rope ;)
