I've been where you are. Don't let your doubts frighten you. The Bible says that God will not crush or quench even the most flickering or faltering of faith (Matthew 12:20). We also have as an example the man from Mark 9:24 ("I believe, help my unbelief.") to look to. And perhaps the best verse of all, 2 Timothy 2:13 (If we believe not, yet he remains faithful: he cannot deny himself).
Doubts are terrifying, but when you come out the other side, your faith is stronger. For me, it took years, and even now I still have moments. Every Christian has periods of doubt. It's okay. Just hold onto Him with what little faith you have. In the end, it's not how strong our hold is on Him, but how strong His hold is on us. And His hold is unbreakable.

2 things; first how can there be a creation without a creator? A design without a designer? (and let's face it; all throughout nature you SEE DESIGN). Second... think of a watch, say, a pocket watch. That watch was designed and put together by a designer and a maker. Now take that watch apart, and just scatter it on a beach... how long until it "evolves" into a watch? Better yet, melt down the parts into their most elemental form... now how long does it take for the watch to evolve. Are our bodies not more intricately designed and made, than a watch?

God loves you and he knows how you are feeling. I just read a book that is awesome for people like us. It's called The Shack - please try to read it. It gives so much hope.
Can you please elaborate on the book? Ficition? Self-help? I would love to hear. Thanks.

Taylor,
Hugs to you. Now and then I think many of us have doubts, but in truth, we know - God is there.
Absolutely awesome little book (only 120 pages)
More Than A Carpenter by Josh McDowell
that our pastor gave us that you might enjoy.
The author started his research in an effort to prove that Christians must be "out of their minds" and argued against the faith. He was on a quest to prove that the Christian faith was a "crock".
At the end of his research, which resulted in a complete turnabout in his beliefs, he decided to write this book, AFFIRMING the claims of Christ. He ended up with an incredibly strong faith in God !!!
It's amazing how much affirmative information is in this little book, based on the evidence of history, prophecy and reason.
Check it out.
God bless and hugs to you.

I'm new at this and it's my first time using or answering anyone.
I was raised in the Catholic faith and was an altar boy/ choir etc. I'm 81 yrs old. I was taught if i didn't go to church on Sunday something terrible would happen. Well the war came and for 3 years i didn't see a church or a priest. After the war i came home and married the girl that i met when i was 13 yrs old.
I was married for 57 years and we had 5 children and in 1973 she was diagnosed as bipolar and a manic depressive. i went to church and prayed and i seen a Jesuit priest and told him how i felt (I was sick over it)
He tells me to get a divorce. Well that was the end of my Catholic days. My wife passed away a lil over 2 years ago and one morning i found a bird nest by my front door. i picked it up and is was awesome. This bird through "instincts " given by its Creator made this nest and you have to examine it and wonder how something with a brain the size of a pea i guess could create it. It's weaved and solidly built.
Now i believe that we are given instincts to do his work and it makes more sense to me. In the animal world they all are programmed to follow a way of life that fits their needs. I truly believe this and it didn't come from any book or bible "man made" it's something we have but haven't discovered.

"So I've always loved God and been a Christian, but lately I've been questioning things."
I've been in your shoes, I've been through the same thing, it doesn't make u a bad christian or a bad person to feel this way. We all struggle with our faith and beliefs, but trust me when I say this makes your faith stronger. God wants you to talk to him about these things, he knows this happens, so don't lose heart he will show you the truth.
