Song for Anxiety

Post by NeverQuit » Tue Apr 26, 2011 10:34 am

There's a song by Tenth Avenue North called "Times" that I always think is perfect for people with anxiety. The lyrics are just perfect, they speak about God's UNDYING love for us, how no matter how we're FEELING, He is ALWAYS there loving us!!!!!!!!! Just like we're taught to get BETWEEN our thoughts and break them up with something, GOD's LOVE is between all our scary thoughts, He's over us, He's always there, loving, no matter what we're going through!

"I hear You say "My love is over,
its underneath, its inside, its in between
the times you doubt Me, when you can't feel
the times that you've questioned 'is this for real?'
the times you've broken, the times that you mend
the times you hate Me and the times that you bend
well my love is over, its underneath
its inside, its in between,
these times you're healing
and when your heart breaks
the times that you feel like you've fallen from grace
the times you're hurting
the times that you heal
the times you go hungry and *are tempted* to steal
in times of confusion and chaos and pain
I'm there in your sorrow under the weight of your shame
I'm there through your heartache
I'm there in the storm
My love i will keep you by My power alone
I don't care where you've fallen, where you have been
I'll never forsake you
My love never ends, it never ends"

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified. What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all—how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8.

Thank you for posting this. You are a great strength to this sight. Are you done with the program?

Aww, I hope it blessed you! :) Thank you for your kind words, I just want to give back what God is teaching me!
I have gone through the program on my own more than once, had a hard time really applying myself to it and applying the skills to my life, and I am going through it now with a coach from StressCenter. I still struggle with certain aspects of my anxiety, but I am feeling God's freedom finally coming upon me and I am truly learning to APPLY these skills. That's where the key lies.
