I don't know if any of you read or watch Joel Osteen, but I received this message in the email devotional I receive from his ministry every day. I am on Week 3 about negative thinking and had to take a few extra days on this one to let it sink in!

Anyhow - thought you might enjoy this. I love it when God sends confirmation!

Best to you,
Dawn

Change Your Mind

Today's Scripture

“Repent (think differently; change your mind, regretting your sins and changing your conduct), for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 3:2 AMP).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

Do you have behaviors in your life that you want to stop? Maybe it’s a habit, a bad attitude, or even negative thoughts. No matter what you may want to change in your life, you have to start by changing your mind. You have to change your thinking so that your thoughts are in line with God’s thoughts. When you repent and make a decision to follow God in every area of your life, you open the door for His supernatural power to work. When you take control of your thought life, you are cooperating with that power that is at work in you. Remember, your life will go in the direction of your thoughts. You can’t just allow any old thought or image to play in your mind. You have to choose right thoughts. The easiest way to change your thoughts is by speaking God’s Word. When you say “orange”, you probably won’t start thinking about an apple. In the same way, when you confess the Word of God, which says you are more than a conqueror, it will drive those negative, defeated thoughts away! Change your mind today by changing your words. As you think thoughts of faith and victory, you will move forward into the abundant life He has in store for you!

Hey PrvMom,
I watch Joel every week, I love the messages of hope that he gives. Thanks for this message of the day. I'm in week 2, right behind you, I'll keep you in my prayers. Chat with you later.

I didn't get to see him on Larry King, I did see him on Chris Wallace's show last Sunday. He came across as a genuine person, I like that. Listening and watching him is like a bonus with this program. I also have been listening to the audio book "Battlefield of the Mind" by Joyce Meyers, it's pretty good also. Has anyone else read or listened to this book?

Hi PRV31MOM,
I have heard and seen Joel's show and it is inspiring at the time and for most of the day. It's kinda funny how certain times he's saying just what i seem to need at that particular moment. although, I have to admit that once i haven't watched it the positive doesn't come as easy to my mind when I'm so used to the opposite. have any hints on how to maintain the positive? Thanks

Beth

prv31mom,
THANK YOU!! I needed that so desperately. I just posted something in the Lesson 3 section about my negative thoughts, and how I don't WANT to think positive ... your post hits home for me, as a Christian, I so needed to hear that. I see you are on lesson 3 too. I will look for more posts from you!

Gratefully,
Maureen

Hi everyone!

I'm so glad you all enjoyed that devotional like I did! :)

As to staying positive, I think Lucinda was saying that she has little "thought a day" type books that help her get through the day - something to make your morning bright...that kind of thing. You can get the Joel Osteen devotionals emailed to you for free by going to his website: www.joelosteen.com and clicking on the picture that says something like "Inspirational e-votionals". I find that trying to stay in the positive is helped by having those sent to me...I didn't have to to any work (after the initial signing up! :) ), it takes like 2 minutes to read one, and they are so positive! I am sure lots of other preachers or inspirational sites have the same type of idea too.

I don't believe in coincidence...God is in control (even when I think I need to be! :) )and I just thought it was so cool how He used Joel Osteen to send me a message on negative thinking in the week that I was studying it in this program! :) (And that He could/would use me to share it with you, too!!! :) )

Best,
Dawn

Thanks Dawn. I just signed up for the e-newsletter and also am getting sent to my home "Thirty Thoughts for Victorious Living". It's free. Whatever it takes to get us thinking more positive.
