Who made God?

The spiritual response to anxiety and depression

Jim- What an "eye opening" topic that you started. I found it very beneficial. A lot of people do find it hard to explain our God and we must be prepard. Many people such as I learned of God secondhand. And not through the Holy Scriptures to find out His true nature. When I read the bible, prayed and learned of Him for myself, I came to the realization that I had God all wrong! If they just ask Good to reveal himself to them, which He will, their is no way you can deny Him. They are also some Christians that are spreading the Gospel incorrectly. Remember Jesus had so many issues with the so called church folk. When witnessing we must be humble and patient when people don't get it right away. Let our lives be a shining example of God's wisdom and glory so people will flock to us wanting to know what is it that we have and they don't. Again thank you for your post and you should join us tomorrow on the conference call where we pray together. Phone number and passcode is listed in another post.

Be blessed

Hey Jim, I really enjoyed your logical and scriptual takes on our devine creaters exsistance. I think we as humans have a tough time getting a grip on the eternal concept, especially those of us who overanilise everything to try and put it all in a neat little box for our own comfort. God chose me to be one of his own, and has proven his care for me countless times, or constantly through time. I loved the cartoon too. But we all seem to spend more time asking of God rather then thanking. As for me and my own we choose to love God and wander through this world looking for ways to improve our abilitys to love God, for this is definatly not our home.

Thanks everyone. I agree Firebug, we all ask for more than we give thanks for. I'm all too guilty of this myself. We tend to get comfortable with the way things are, and subsequently, take it all for granted. What a shame. I guess we all could use some fine tuning, lol. This world is surely not our home, just a temporary dwelling for our pilgrimage, just as our bodies are not our permanent dwellings, but merely the tents we live in for the time being.
Glad to see your remembering God again Waldon. Amazing what a few simple words can do for someone.
Need to go for now, hope to add more soon...Jim :)

Where? On here? I've not seen it. Your "answer" belongs to whomever asked the question. Otherwise, you're just preaching. This topic has nothing to do with anxiety or depression and that's what this web site is for. It's not here to preach to, save, or convert anyone, which, by your own words, was what you intended to do.

You've posted this before in a different thread and it began a discussion that got rather ugly. If I remember correctly, the topic was closed. Why would you want to start it all over again? Talk about stirring the pot!
I have to disagree. I think this topic is certainly relevant. This is a very common question asked by theists, atheists, and agnostics. It is also a common question that creates a lot of anxiety and confusion for believers.

Jim laid out an answer to the question in order to help others who already believe in God but may also feel doubt about certain aspects of God. Jim is one of the few well-studied Theists/Christians that I've seen on here and I rather enjoy reading his point of view.

Yes, I completely disagree with his answer, but it was none the less, very helpful to a lot of believers. So I don't think this was a thread intended on converting others; there are plenty of those in the forum already, but this is not one of them. It was merely an informative answer to one of the harder questions asked by anyone with a skeptical mind. I believe his answer has helped a large number of people on here.

Great Post!

Craw, Craw, Craw....where to begin. This topic could certainly relieve anxiety to one who may have had an issue about it. Because you don't see it this way or that way, doesn't make it so/not so. I said that subjects as this cause controversy, but I also said it wasn't my intention to do so. I just wanted people to know there are answers to questions. Just wanted to arm people with what I believe to be the truth. If you don't believe it, or don't like posts such as this, don't read them, simple as that. There are posts on this forum that have to do with atheism, but I don't go on there, simply because I'm not an atheist. I have posted on here before, but it was about evolution versus creation, and I assure you I didn't start the thread. I didn't believe it to get ugly at all, I just got upset when someone called me Jimbo, a name I detest, to which I later apologized for. The only one here who's "stirring the pot" is you, yourself. Yours is the only negative comment on this post thus far. Beatanxiety07, who disagrees with my views is certainly not offended. Him and I had a nice, healthy debate before. We have a right to our opinions, as you do. I'm not offended because of what one believes, or don't believe, what's that on me??? Thanks Beat, for your approval, by the way, and Conner too.:)
Craw, if you don't think my topic has anything to do with anxiety, then it's you who clearly don't understand what some people here are anxious about. I respect other people's opinions about disagreeing with me, but why get "ugly" about it? As a matter of fact, why even respond at all? Have a nice day...:)

Jimbo

You posted:

People can try to explain God away all they want, but He will remain. I always ponder why an atheist tries so hard to explain God away. I mean, if He doesn't exist, what are they worried about? Judgement? Gonna happen no matter what they think, say, or do. They (atheists) don't have the spirit of God, so it's IMPOSSIBLE for them to understand, no matter what you say or do. They are spiritually discerned. But we Christians can save some. This is our spiritual duty.

And I say:  give us a break. Your just looking for trouble and you came to the right place to find it huh? This has nothing to do with anxiety or depression and you know it. Your playing dumb here. Who in the heck are you to be worrying about what other people believe? Mind your own business and stop bringing up subjects that tick peeps off. ;) This is a depression and anxiety forum and your subject is way out of line. No one needs a "healthy" debate! They need inspiration and your going about it the wrong way guy!

Jim2,

I thought that your post was amazing! I thought this could help alot of people with their anxiety. Some have questions about God and some don't believe the way that you do, and that is fine for them but I feel a huge anxiety relief when I read something as you have wrote. It helps to know that there are people out there that can put into words that many people can not. I don't understand why this is always a conterversy with people because I see nothing to argue about either you believe it or you don't. Like you said this is your opinion and you gave way to all the thoughts of all. I have disagreed in the past with some posts I have read but all those people are allowed their opinions. I just wanted to thank you for your wisdom and your opinion, it helped me to calm after my hectic day! God bless you!
