I was thinking about trying accupuncture, as I am currently pregnant and need to get rid of obsessive thoughts that keep occuring at night. My mind cannot settle easily. Thoughts of hurting my son, checking repeatedly that he's ok, cleaning non-stop and worried about contamination and losing control. Thought the accupuncture might alleviate this. Any thoughts>? Really not sure about the needle thing, but anything is better than the constant worries of losing control.

i did accupuncture, accupressure and massage and during the initial consultation explained the anxiety and depression i experienced.

i was already doing the program--which helped, because the practitioner expected me to be actively involved--breathing deeply, when necessary, etc. it really helped clear my thoughts!

I am doing accupuncture right now and I'd say it's helping. The needle thing is absolutey nothing at all, really. Good luck!

thank you for both of your replies, I think it's definitely worth one last shot before I try Zoloft. Since I'm almost 5 months pregnant, have concerns with meds right now.
Have a great day!

Lucie I think accupuncture is worth a try but I would join a cbt group or read the book called Been There, Done That? Do This! by Sam Obitz and have him start countering your thoughts in a TEA form every morning. It's a real simple exercise once you get the hang of it and the book is short and easy to comprehend because the author was a longtime suffer like Lucinda. It got me off all my meds and I have now been med free for over four years and feeling great.

thank you for all the support regarding the accupuncture treatment. I had my first session on Saturday and slept sound the last two nights without meds-first time in a month! It allowed my mind to be at ease enough to focus on the program again and CBT.
