I have anxiety which has lead to germ phobia and now I am completely consumed with hand washing. Does anyone else suffer from germ phobia or ocd hand washing? Does the program help with this?I am only into Session 2 and can relate to some things but still a little skeptical of it really helping me.

Yes, the program can help you but I also recommend other reading material with exercises for you to follow that work well with this program. You need exposure therapy for this one as well as the program.

Freedom from Fear by Dr. Howard Liebgold addresses your issue and you will find it very comforting and soothing to read. It will help you on your journey. I know there are other good reading materials out there that others can perhaps recommend. Also, Dr. Phillipson's material can help you. www.ocdonline.com

I can tell you over and over again that you do not need to wash your hands obsessively but you really need to prove it to yourself. Exposure therapy will help you with that.

You're not alone and you can heal from this. Do not judge nor criticize yourself in anyway. Soothe and comfort yourself every step of the way. You will heal.
